HF Habs: 2025 NHL Draft: Part II

So barring any fallers the F wishlist is

Brady Martin
Carter Bear
Braeden Cootes
Malcolm Spence
Justin Carbonneau

Ds seems thin this year?

Mrtka or Aitcheson
Hensler still interests me a lot. I know people are dropping him, but he's already playing in the NCAA on a bad team. He's good size, great skater and good motor. He's a top 4 defenseman all day.

I've only watched one Jake O'Brien game this year and he was just alright in it. For those that have scouted him intensely, how would you compare him to Hage

Absolutely. He’d be my prime target at 16th/17th, along with Lakovic.

If we use both picks and use 1 on a F/C and 1 on a D, who would you choose?

16 - Spence, Carbonneau, Cootes or Bear?
17 - Hensler or Aitcheson?

#18 of Moncton is good…

Very good !
Too good for Oceanic.

Oceanic will end up 0-3 in the Mem Cup. Really tough to know who amongst London, MHat and Moncton will be the final 2. Especially with Basha and Lindstrom coming back.

ending up with Spence and Aitcheson would be a pretty solid draft imo, haven't seen enough of Bear

I have heard he has a pretty terrible attitude as well, i'm not sure how much substance is behind that.

Did not know that.

I only watch games, I don't really delve into locker room or day-to-day stuff for prospects.

If true it could explain some scratches and discipline that I heard was doled-out to Carbonneau.

I thought it was for being a bit late to a team practice but maybe there's something more there.

It's a shame if true; it's not often the Q cranks-out a prospect with the type of tools and upside that Carbonneau possesses.

That was my list in 2024, some pretty good guesses and some egregious mistakes but a year later I still stand by what I saw all of last year leading to the Draft:

1. Celebrini9. Catton17. Jiricek25. Connelly
2. Demidov10. Lindstrom18. Basha26. Artamonov
3. Dickinson11. Parekh19. Greentree27. Hemming
4. Buium12. Helenius20. Surin28. Ritchie
5. Levshunov13. Sennecke21. Hutson29. Emery
6. Silayev14. Brandsegg-N.22. Boisvert30. Beaudoin
7. Yakemchuk15. Chernyshov23. Hage31. Luchanko
8. Iginla16. Eiserman24. Stiga32. Poirier

I had Sennecke quite low too in hindsight, and was too high on a lot of other players.

It happens. No one bats 1.000.
Who would you have taken at 5 if Colombus took Demidov at 4?
