Go ahead find the scouting report on Poehling. I remember that draft and Poehling was the guy with all the tools but with no production pre draft. Many questioned his upside and he was labelled a safe bet to become a 3rd line center but with limited upside. Martin is nothing like that, go watch him instead of fixating on scouting report. Poehling was selected late first btw, nothing like a top 10 prospect. He had question mark about his offensive game. You just described Poehling as a prospect. Seriously, you could probably find this verbatim in old threads about Poehling circa 2017 and earlier.
Yes. His game is so mature. I think he is a candidate to play in the NHL as a 18 years old. He still can improve but his game is already very pro like.Yeah he's moving way up my board. His speed, engagement and anticipation on the wing that he showcased this tournament changes a lot.
I think he's a waste at center. I get it's the more valuable position, but his impact and strengths are much more greatly felt on the wing where he can just play at full throttle without having to worry about being the first man back. Sometimes it just works out that way, like for Sam Reinhart.
I like the Landeskog comp. Dustin Brown is another good one and there are some elements of Mark Stone as well.
Lol, this description is more apt for Martin now than it was for Poehling then.Go ahead find the scouting report on Poehling. Anyway it's moot point. He won't be available when we will select. He will leapfrog into the top 10 in the next Bob McKenzie ranking.
Schmidt probably won't be in my top 50. He's where plays go to die. That Smaht scouting is no joke, probably the worst list that I have ever seen.
They truly fantasize over small players with no path to pro career.
Anway, I do not make my opinion on players with scouting report. I watch them play and this is why having players like Schimdt and Potter above Desnoyers or Martin is quite a take mostly on people that believe that every team have undersized players in their top 6 and throw out of the window projectable attributes to the NHL.
Probably get Genborg with our 2nd. Gard not much offense there.Another name we should add to the list:
Milton Gästrin
He has impressed me a lot. He reminds me Adrian Kempe in his style.
A player we should target with our 2nd round pick is Matthew Gard. Very underrated, he has impressed me more than Jack Nesbitt.

If Schmidt and Potter really are above Desnoyers in their rankings, it is well deserved criticism.Lol classic. “Those scouts are wrong because I disagree with them. You don’t watch this guy and only read scouting reports because you disagree with me”. What a juvenile mindset.

Schmidt is the Canadian Filip Mesar.
I’d compare him to Mike Fisher personallylike the Landeskog comp. Dustin Brown is another good one and there are some elements of Mark Stone as well.
Could pick him anyway. Could be another HutsonToo bad Katzin is so tiny.
Also a lot of the big guy hit waiver before establishing them self…Stop overdrafting size or thoughness. It always backfire!!
I still remember us drafting McCarron because we got dominated physically in the playoff and decide to draft size with the like of McCarron, De la rose and Connor f***** Crisp.
If we want size we acquire it via free agency or trade at the deadline or pick outside the 1st or 2nd round. Draft top talent and compete level, not size. We already have Xhekaj in the system and he was drafted in the 4th round as we did with Thorpe, Protz. Let's continue that way.
He's a good bit smaller than even Hutson is. Still, we have a ton of picks yet again this year and he's certainly worth a try.Could pick him anyway. Could be another Hutson
Fast, skilled, no hockey IQ.how? they are nothing alike.
Fast, skilled, no hockey IQ.
One of the most baffling highly ranked player that I have seen. The guy only go fulll speed, try deking 3 players and shot at the net every shift. Barely look around the 3 easy passing options available. Does he have the talent to play in the pro? yes but his decision making is very poor. Syndrome of a player that always has been the best player everywhere he has played and refuse (or forget) to play with his teammates.
you're saying they're similar players?Also, re: Lakovic.
Who needs that lazy bum Rantanen in the playoffs anyway?
Carbonneau is known for his offensive skill set, especially his ability to create plays in tight spaces and navigate through traffic. He has excellent vision, allowing him to generate scoring chances for both himself and his teammates. His shot is quick and accurate, making him a constant threat in the offensive zone.Justin Carbonneau looks really intriguing. Some reports on him please?
Do he have top 6 potential?
Not a big fan of his, but think he can become a good bottom 6er. Doesn't have the hockey IQ for a top 6 role IMOJustin Carbonneau looks really intriguing. Some reports on him please?
Do he have top 6 potential?
Interesting. I see him as more of a shoot from anywhere player with a bit of tunnel vision who is at risk of not producing at higher levels.Carbonneau is known for his offensive skill set, especially his ability to create plays in tight spaces and navigate through traffic. Although his skating stride is sometimes described as wide, it doesn’t hinder his speed or agility. He effectively uses his speed to create space and pressure opposing defenders.
Ranked far but he's putting up pts
