HF Habs: 2025 NHL Draft: Part II

I'm on the Aitcheson wagon. I want him with Calgary's or our own pick. I think he'll be a top 4 d-man in the NHL. This year's draft forward group is questionable, imo, and unless someone falls to us, like Bear, then I hope we go D. If we walk away with Bear and Aitcheson I would be over the moon.

If he’s the best player take him anyways. Should never draft for need over BPA unless 2 players are tied on your rankings list.
Top 2 center near impossible to acquire. I would go with Martin, Reschny or O'Brien if they are gone. Maybe Cootes?

Aitchison is better player but he either moves Hutson to right side or WiFi to the press box. Thereby weakening the team While we have gapping hole at center

I don’t think he has the defence IQ to be good NHL.

Similar IQ to Mailloux. Good on offensive but below average overall.

I don't see that comparison at all. Mailloux looks like a Souray type of d-man, a PP specialist, with an absolute cannon.

I find Aitcheson skates better, is in the correct spots in his own end and extremely physical. I think he can improve with moving the puck because he turns it over too much (needs to simplify his game), but his skating his strong enough that he will overcome it and be an NHL player.

I think Aitcheson's skating, offensive mind, and physicality is what gets me excited about him in the middle of the 1st round. He's a few years away but I think he will continue to develop his decision making on the ice. I really want his puck handling and decision making to get better. I find he tries the more difficult play than he needs to on the ice. He has improved a lot but it's the area I think he can grow the most. He's a middle first and there will be some issues. I don't see the Mailloux comparison.

One thing we will need is another PMD, with Matheson surely gone after next year, I'd like for us to target a PMD in the second round with the Pens pick but beyond Cameron Reid which is a long shot then, I can't seem to think of anyone worth drafting there

Liam Ruck just won the game for Medicine Hat. Choked up on his stick and deflected in a sho.t Most NHL players don't seem to be able to take a puck or tip a pass unless it is in perfect position. if they might have to move a foot to get it forget it.

I wouldnt bet that. For what we know, he's one the reason why the group chemistry is that good... small thing like been the 1st one to meet Demidov.

I want top end talent with less red flags possible.

In an ideal world we get a top 6 talent. I do not care at all about size, if we feel Reschny or Schmidt or Kindel are future star forwards, draft them!

I am unsure about Lakovic, Carbonneau, Spence. They have the tools but I highly question their hockey IQ. They should dominate way more than they did especially with their size and skating.

Carter Bear, Brady Martin are talented and with high compete. That would be ideal.
