That’s not hindsight either; those were pretty much the obvious picks there (they all went back to back immediately after the Bruins picks), but they galaxy brained it lmao. Just brutal for them. It was so funny. They went completely off script like you say and the announcers were clear, WTH are the Bruins doing. You know, " interesting pick, he was anticipated to go mid 2nd round and a, b, c, d,e ,f are still on the board". Laughing at the Bruins board that was frothing lol.

NGL. I was shocked that both Barzal and Connor dropped. I had both of them firmly in my top 10 that year. The fact that professional amateur scouting did not selected them top 15 should be fireable offense for all the teams. It was not even long shot.
Chabot range was more mid 1st/late round pick I personally had Konecny above Chabot. So I would have went Connor, Barzal and Konecny in that order.

It's so odd that people accept fighting yet then expect people in the middle of a fight, on skates, to adhere to some unrealistic "code" that ignores the inherent violent and split second chaos of fighting... Especially for people that aren't trained fighters.
