HF Habs: 2025 NHL Draft: Part II

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

How do you feel about Lakovic's jam/physical game? You think he'll toughen up?
That mix of size, skating, puckhandling and playmaking is what excites me the most going foward, he is good at cycling the puck too. He is a big kid who doesnt use his frame enough, but still uses it well when he wants too. He is 6'4 and not even 200 pounds yet, I think he will be a monster when he matures physically and adds 15-20 pounds. He is a bit of a project at this point, needs to work on some details of the game, but I would say his 2-way game and motor are good enough for me at that point.

Watching him skate through the neutral zone with his soft hands is a thing of beauty. He projects as a solid complementary piece on a top 6 or great middle 6. Since Moose Jaws sucks, I hope he makes the jump to the NCAA next year, he wouldnt look out of place.

While I'm cool with Montreal trading one of their 1st round draft picks, I hope they don't draft both. We do need more forward depth in system, imo.

Montreal's own pick could be 12th/13th, which is an interesting place to be in this draft.

A unwritten rule is the 1OV plays in the NHL the next year ,
I really don't think Matthew Schaefer will play in the NHL next year.
I see more Misa or even Desnoyers playing in 2025

Fiddler as been climing the ladder now.

Who's better between Hensler and Fiddler as a RHD ?

Fiddler looks like Guhle a bit to me, same size and playstyle, and he's almost 1 year younger then Hensler.

Yeah, he won't not with him missing almost the entire year first due to mono then his injury. He might be a candidate to go NCAA route.

I wouldnt want anything outside the top10 in this draft, I would trade both for one better individual piece, bowen byram or something like that or a better pick

It's not uncommon for D to not make the NHL even when they are the #1 picks. Owen Power, Erik Johnson being recent examples. In the end I don't think teams are going to get influenced by whether the guy will play in the NHL next year or the year after.

I like Fiddler way more. Fiddler has way more untapped offense and I think defends just as well and could improve more there as well.

Hensler trending down. Fiddler trending up.
Maybe with our second first but need a center with our pick. I have reservations about Hage. Like prospect depth at center

Fiddler not offensive nor physical for big man.

That's completely wrong, there's lots of talent past the top 10 this year I'm pretty sure when we redraft in 5 years, the top 50 will have lots of surprise top 10s in this one.
