HF Habs: 2025 NHL Draft: Part II

All over the map.

Top 7 is generally considered to include: Schaefer, Misa, Frondell, Hagens, Martone, Eklund & Desnoyers.

After that, there's Mrtka (RD), Smith (LD), Lakovic (big W), Bear (LW), O'Brien (C), Martin (C), Kindel (C), Spence (W), and then there's McQueen, a top 8 forward that's been out majority of the season due to a bad back.

If we happen to pick something like 11 and 14 (how we currently sit), I wonder if there's a chance McQueen slips to us and if so, does the HuGo regime take a chance on him.

Given how Lindstrom's (or rather lack thereof) season has gone, I think teams will be more cautious. A bad back at this age and size is not a good thing. Especially since McQueen has been dealing with that for a little while (at least since his D-1). Vilardi went out at 11OA, so I guess it would be a comparable range.​

Think about that..the dude will turn 18 only in April....he has 89 points in....54 games in the WHL..... 1.65 ppg

At the same age in the WHL as well....Berkly Catton last season had 116 points in 68 games ...1.70 ppg.

Both are 5.10 175 ...and Catton was drafted 8th overall and I had him 3rd overall.

Catton should have been drafted in the top 6 easily......

..so..... Kindel ....a lot of people should wake up soon about that kid....

Justin Carbonneau is a 6'2'' RW who has 38 goals in 52 games (73 pts).Powet forward with a great shut (snipper), not afraid to play in traffic and skating is good.I would select him with our second first choice because the Habs do not have many true snipers.

Despite their win yesterday, Montreal fell from 10th OA pick to 8th OA pick today.

Utah won moving them 2 pts up on Montreal, while Anaheim picked up a point moving them into a tie with Montreal. Ducks have played one less game, so that gives them the tie breaker, for now.

If he shows up and is healthy, should be right in our wheelhouse to pick.

Him playing the rest of the regular season plus playoffs, staying healthy and perfectly fine I doubt he goes after 5 or 6, sadly. But yes if he’s there when we pick he’s a very interesting one.

If he comes back for the March 4th game against the Rebels, he'll play 10 regular season games before the playoffs.

Don't know if it's been said but Grant McCagg said he had an info that McQueen is aiming for a come back on march 4th.

I'm aiming for a come back march 14th, but my wife said 47 is too old. Oh well.

Bill Zonnon is another big forward from Quebec that's producing well but isn't talked about like Desnoyers and Carbonneau. Anybody got a report on him? He's a super late birthday, but he's flying under the radar a little.

Caught an Armada game over the weekend and was lucky to see Justin Carbonneau play in person. Unfortunately, he didn't have the best of games vs Sherbrooke as it looked like he got taken off his game pretty early during a pretty chippy match up.

That said, he has an absolute rocket of a shot. Pretty impressive how fast and hard his shot is with seemingly minimal wind up. Safe to say, there aren't enough shooters with the Habs so he could be an option with their second 1st round pick.
