I would not be surprised to see Mrtk rise like Sennecke last year and end up in the top 5. Big RD and C are the hardest players to get. Schaefer Misa Hagens Mrtka Frondell could be the top 5

The lack of respect for Porter Martone is incredible. Almost 2PPG in the OHL. I understand there are questions but how can you not select him at 4?

I like Martone a lot but he isn't top 3 talent in front of Schaefer Misa Hagens, however big physical goalscorer are really hard to find as well, I said those 5 guys before him but he could picked 4-5th and I wouldn't be surprise. I just have a hard time projecting powerforward especially when the play in the CHL. I had Slaf 6th overall and Nemec 1st in my rankings in 2022, I could be wrong, I am far from being an expert.

Yeah he’s rated mid 1st but 6’6 puck moving RD, NHL GMs will be high on him
Yup, Habs need to make this draft really count. As likely their last drafting top ten. Demidov be here next season along with couple solid additions. Either thru trade or free agency.

Definitely Either big right D or top 6 center.

Michael Misa wth a hat trick last night.

He has great chemistry with Chernyshov which could be a duo we see in the future as the Sharks currently have the 1st overall pick....But who knows what will happen if they don't win the lottery.

Brady Martin with 2 assists last night giving him 9 goals and 8 assists in his last 10 games.

Caleb Desnoyers had 2 assists in a 3-1 win. He has 30 goals and 40 assists in 46 games.

Ben Kindel is a really good player. I like him a lot more than the OHL guys (Martin, O'Brien) and Cootes. He's some how ranked behind them. Definitely worth a look at Calgary's pick. Kid is a gamer.

Being 5 foot 10 doesn't help i'm sure. I know we talk about height often, but on the Habs another smallish forward is not the answer I don't think. That's not to say I wouldn't draft him, but it makes you think twice.

It sucks because in the WHL there are a few really interesting forward propsects in Cootes (mind you, he is 6 foot), Reschny and Kindel, but they're all on the slight side.. What happened to those big western forwards of the 90's lol.

He plays the game like Gilmour. In a draft that is high in 3rd liners, I don't think you should pass on actual talent. 5'10 isn't that small.

Has anybody seen Jack Murtagh play out of the US NTDP? It's a down year for that program, and he seems like the best prospect of the bunch.

Plus it's cool that he has a 1980's detective name.

The fuc.....6.0 psycho shi....

Jeez.....

Again half of the best players in Nhl.history were and are not 6.0

Just today

Crosby
Kucherov
Point
Makar

Etc.. to name.a.few...and they deliver in the playoffs.

In fact small players are not lazy like big players..aka Dach, Laine etc..

Where do you guys think Misa ranks in each of the past 3 draft classes?

2022: Slaf/Nemec/Cooley/Wright/Gauthier
2023: Bedard/Carlsson/Fantilli/Smith/Reinbacher
2024: Celebrini/Levshunov/Sennecke/Lindstrom/Demidov

Benstheman has the same answer I would have put.

Otherwise, update on my current top 10.

1. Schaefer
2. Misa
3. Hagens
4. Eklund
5. Martone
6. Frondell
7. Kindel
8. Bear
9. Smith
10. O'Brien

Took out Lakovic, Spence, Schmidt.

If the habs can just sell and slip into the top 6.

Schaefer
Misa

Hagens
Martone
Frondell

Desnoyers

Eklund
McQueen

I know McQueen is high risk, and it's worrisome his injury is back related. That's scary. But damn, if you hit. How high are people willing to go on McQueen? I would currently pick these 7 ahead of him and that list might change but the risk @ 8 is worth it to me. I think getting top 6 is huge.
