He's very good, if you like the Tkachuk brothers, you'll like him. The WJC thing isn't a proper evaluation of his abilities.

But we won't have a shot at him, he is going to fall in that range where we can't pick. We need to look at the left shot centres anyways, and luckily for us there is four really good ones, Misa and Hagens if we won 2 OA, or Desnoyers and Frondell if we can pick just outside of the top 5.

I'd be shocked if Desnoyers falls outside the top 5. He seems like a lock as a 2nd line center and don't think this many teams will big brain it.

Yep. I'd imagine the top centers will all go top 5 like they usually do. Schaefer goes 1 but then Misa, Frondell, Desnoyers and Hagens all go top 5. Especially with this draft being a weak one, it makes the decision to take the more valuable position even easier this year.

We may as well go for it properly though. None of the crap we do where we win just enough to screw ourselves. This is probably our last chance at a top guy. Management can manipulate it. Other teams do it. We need top 4... we get 5. We need top 3 ... we get 4. We gotta get top 2.

To me this draft is all about getting the 2nd line center we thought we had with Dach (Hage is more of a right winger in the pro IMO).
So Hagens, Frondell, Desnoyers or O'brien.

I am not against drafting Bear, Misa but they are left winger.

Misa won't be available at #3 for sure. Size and skill. He is outproducing multiple first overall pick coming from the OHL.

A lot of people talk about the 'Russian Factor' which causes many prospects to be picked below their perceived worth, but I don't ever see anyone talk about a 'Q' factor. Many teams lower the value of many Q players because of the league they play in, unless they are special players.

Could this happen to Desnoyers?

Really? I think they just take BPA. I wouldn’t be surprised if they really like Mrtka who is flying under the radar for some reason. The organization has a real question mark at RD with Mailloux showing he can’t defend and Reinbacher being a big question mark.

I'm like Mrtka too. Solves the big right D hole for us. But doubt he's there at 10.

Yeah he’s rated mid 1st but 6’6 puck moving RD, NHL GMs will be high on him
