What are people looking at for the 2nd round picks? I just don't see a lot of talent pass 20 this year. Might be a good year to package some picks to move up a couple spots. I think if Calgary ends up 16th, and a 2nd rounder takes us to 12, I would do it. I think the possibility of ending up with McQueen, Desyoners, Eklund or Frondell (IMO, one of these 4 might fall a bit) would be a fantastic pick up.

I'm just unimpressed with this draft. Maybe I just haven't been watching enough jr. hockey or the players have become so bland, but outside the top 20 guys I just don't see a lot of NHL talent.
Not in Order:Genborg,Horcoff,Vansaghi,Brzustewitz,Amico,Zonnon,Czata

Didn’t think we had a chance at Desnoyers, but things have changed quickly in the span of a couple of weeks
I don't think much difference between Desnoyers or Bear or O'Brien actually. Each future #2 center. Desnoyers probably gets the edge where he is from here. Any of the above plus take Martin with Flames pick solves our center woes for a decade

I would expect that outside of being able to pick a talent like Misa/Hagens.. the defining characteristics of this draft class is gonna be snarl and compete.

And that would be good, adding a missing ingredient towards building roster balance.

You can’t do that by inserting a goon, it has to dot the lineup.

Still really like Brzustewicz out of London. Smart & tough with sneaky offense is a good combo. He can play up and down the lineup and suspect he's about to move up given what just happened w/ Cam Allen. Reminds me of Weegar.
He's really taken charge when Sam Dickinson hasn't been in the lineup and he had to play big minutes, he definitely has a bit of an added dimension to his game. He's more toolsy than his brother too and a lot better overall skater, so he's easier to project than him IMO. I like him in the late first/very early second.

Bear is LW ,not a center.

He's listed a center/winger. But they say he hasn't played center for the Tips yet. Most likely be an NHL winger. Definitely drops his value. Some top posters don't like Desnoyers. O'Brien seems to be poking ahead of the second tier. Eklund and him, both gaining momentum.
