Here’s a player that might be a good snag in Round 3.

No doubt that along with more elite talent, the Habs need to re-tool the 3rd and 4th lines and a kid like Moses intrigues me.

That's awesome. And the kid is super smart for sure, would like to see us package our picks and something else if needed to move up and grab him.
He's very good friends with my son - we go and watch him play (when Saginaw comes to town), I've been telling him one day he will be selected 1st OA by the Habs, but I'll take 3rd OA regardless! lol

I have to agree with Grant, both Frondell and Misa have passed Hagens for me as well. Hagens has been the same since the start of the season, not much improvement and he is a late, projects as an undersized 2C at that point. There is a case for Desnoyers as well, he might not be quite as talented as Hagens, but clearly has the size advantage and a most well rounded game.

Looking at the current standings, my guess is:

Mtl picks 9th OA
CGY picks 13th OA

The most probable outcome would be that we don't use both of those picks to draft someone.

But putting that aside, who would be your picks at 9th and 13th?

Walking out with Bear and Mrtka is doable at these spots , which is a very strong first round haul IMO. Some could argue it's a bit of a reach, but this is where I have them both. I'd switch Mrtka with Jackson Smith, but I'm starting to think he might be gone by the 9th pick.

I'm surprise people are calling it a ''weak draft''. Schaefer, Hagens and Misa are a solid top 3. I will 100% go for Misa. Skill and NHL size.

It is a weak draft because there is very little depth, the top picks are not what makes a draft a great draft it is the amount of good players available into the 3rd round.

How in the world Ben Kindel is so low on lists ??

The dude has almost...2 points per game in the Whl.....jeez.. (1.70)

Ah ok...got it...he is 5.10 175...

Dumbass G.M will miss another great player

.the dude should be in the Top 10...

So tired of the 6.0 200 shi...

I've read more about this draft year and checked a few videos of certain players now that the Habs are probably going to end with a pick in the top 6 at worst.

Here's my early February preferences:

  1. Matthew Schaefer
  2. Michael Misa
  3. James Hagens
  4. Caleb Desnoyers
  5. Victor Eklund
  6. Porter Martone
  7. Anton Frondell
  8. Carter Bear
  9. Radim Mrtka
  10. Jake O'Brien
  11. Roger McQueen
  12. Lynden Lakovic
At equal talent evaluation, I'm prioritizing the center and then the defenceman. Roger McQueen is a special case, because his injury seems like an enigma and I don't want the Habs to have a Cayden Lindstrom situation so for me, he's outside of the top 10 for now.

What do we think of Brady Martin

I like him a lot. He’s skilled, sturdily built and plays with consistency and an edge.

Plays a responsible, 200-ft game. Excellent shot.

Seen a lot of him and try not to let hometown bias distort my outlook.

I see him as a 25-35-60 contributor in the pros, and 6’0, 195-ish.
