HF Habs: 2025 NHL Draft: Part II

Now look at this folks and analyze this dude and not just his f size.

Look at his:

Reach
Shot
Time and space reaction.
Vision
His plays in front of the net for rebounds, deflections.

His play behind the net to feed his teammates.

You can clearly see in those highlights that the variations of his plays is off chart and it will translate so well in the NHL cause he is not a one trick pony

Guys this dude is the man to draft at all cost.

Ivankovic under 6'; draft stock drops a full round with that one.
Yep..people are crazy like that.

Remember last June when Demidov was at 5.11...a lot of people were like...he is not 6.0...then at the end of June it was updated at 6.0 then....everything was perfect....

This is nuts

2.boxers can have the same height but 3 inches difference with their reach.

In hockey ́peole are maybe too dumb so we are all stick with just the 6.0 and 200...

I’m for BPA available, but size needs to factored in because it matters so much in the playoffs. Small players have a habit to disappear. Players like Barkov transfer seamlessly.

Up to last season I minded little for the size of the player as we needed skill. But our top-6 is ridiculously small and we need to find size somewhere. By trade, by signing and also by draft. I’m still for BPA but boy is it an added bonus if that player also happens to be big.

And for position players height and weight are irrelevant if they play like they are 5'5" 140 lb.

There's also roles that have to be done on the ice. Slafkovsky can't be the only big boy digging pucks off the wall and being first on the forecheck in the entire top 6.

Respecfully:

Did you see Marchand yesterday.

Did you see those guys in playoffs.

Sakic
Yzerman
St Louis
Naslund
Kucherov
Fleury
Stankoven
Caufield
Crosby

Etc etc..

All.those guys are not at 6.0

Oh and btw...the Pens in 16-17 ..2.stanley cup in the row and only Malkin was 6.0 or more...only him

Crosby
Rust
Guetzel
Sheary

That 6.0 thing is a mental disease in the hockey world.

I agree that we need size on the 3rd and 4th line..it is the reason why I was completely against Evans's signature even.at 1 million.

But small players in the top 6 have character will and they almost all money players..

It is kind of a shame that we won't get a shot at Martin or Desnoyers. Either of them would've been great for our team. I'd package our two picks for either of them in a heartbeat.

Definitely a huge riser.

I think McQueen is going to fall to us if we stay pat. The Cayden Lindstrom debacle will make teams stay the f*** away.
McQueen has been doing physical tests at the Combine. Doesn't look like another Cayden Lindstrom case.

I know, but that wont be enough to convince NHL teams. He's certainly going to fall.
Sometimes, i have wishful thinking too and it worked for demidov! But i don’t see mcqueen dropping. The thirst for size is more present than the fear of 1 prospect missing almost all year. It only takes 1 team (and Pittsburgh took a bit with him and mrtka)

I'm not wishing for McQueen. I don't think he's all that.

I just think he's gonna drop hard. Might be worth a shot at 16 or 17.

If McQueen falls, it's because he's seen as a boom or bust, not because of his injury. He's been very open about his injury, it was a spinal fracture between his L4 and L5 vertebrae (lower back). There is no long term effect once healed.

I disagree. There are definitely long term effects for these types of fractures. Including chronic pain, which brings about reliance on pain meds, which can have serious effects for an athlete. Not to mention the risk of further complications on hips and knees due to deformities. You just never know how your body will react over time, there is no control.

I'm not high on the player either, but back injuries for athletes are not a thing to dismiss lightly.
