HF Habs: 2025 NHL Draft: Part II

I think he was going to drop based on how high some people had him anyways. He clearly is not healthy right now and team's will respect his resolve to play through a significant injury but I always saw him as a player more likely to go between 6-10 based on his questionable offensive ceiling.

I am not sure why #11 is your arbitrary line in the sand for Montreal to move up but I think it is very unlikely but not impossible that he falls past 8 OA
You're not wrong that it is arbitrary but out of what I'd wager the Habs are willing to pay, I feel 11 is the only plausible option. Pittsburg has little to no prospects and might be allured by quantity of picks and B+ prospects.

Giving them their 2nd round pick back ++ might actually entice them to drop 5-6 spots. Whereas I don't see it as enticing for like Seattle or Buffalo to be willing to do so. Unless Seattle wants Matheson, cause Buffalo sure as hell doesn't.

Would #17 be that bad a reach for West? I'm not sure he's making it past the 20s anymore.

6'6 talented great skater that hasn't even fully commited to hockey yet and is already pretty good. Pretty unique profile, I doubt he makes it to our 2nd round picks.
We'll see. Bobby Mac had him #59 at the mid season, but he probably did rise a bit from that since.

Can you paraphrase what was said? My French is not the best in podcast form.

Its on prospect forum, I think its called The Hockey Writers caught plagiarizing

It was a ~30 min segment at the end of the podcast, so it was a lengthy segment. Overall they talked about THW not being happy that TSLH exposed them on social networks and they went over the whole saga. Apparently, plagiarism is common place at THW, even among their own writers.

They mentioned your thread exposing them and mentioned some comments from that thread.

Curious what people think of Ben Kindel with one of the firsts. Every time I read anything on him, he sounds like a great pick
Intrigued by both 5'11 centers, him and Reschny, especially the latter. Getting one of those two at 16 or 17 and Ryabkin in late first if we could package 2nd and 3rd rounders (or get lucky at 41), would help to shore up our singular reliance on Hage as long-term 2C. NASA-like redundant systems. One of any of those is bound to bloom into a high-skill, 2-way 2C.

We need a combination of size and skill of course, but we also need elite skill and two-way play at 2C, which I think that Reschny could deliver, in addition to a cerebral approach, especially if he grows another inch or so and fills out to 195 to 200 lbs. Kindel is a little scrawnier, but also interesting.

I like Reschny but I think he ends up as a W. He's very creative and we could do a lot worse with the pick, I think he ends up somewhere in between Sonny Milano and Trevor Zegras

If the Habs take him I'll get excited though because it means they see high offensive upside with him, I'm not counting on it though.

I hope someone more exciting falls but we could just go with Cootes and Reschny and I would be happy, they looked great at the recent WJC-18 and it would be fun to follow them together.

I don't buy it. He is described as both offensively creative and a 200-foot center, as well as a cerebral player. That maps to a center all day for me. He could morph into a Suzuki-lite, assuming that he grows an inch or so and puts on 15 lbs or so. If we can get that at 16, sounds good to me.

What was said by Leto. But directly about you he said ''On the HF Boards forum, one of the BIG Montreal Canadiens poster, WeThreeKings, did a post in the NHL draft prospect exposed what THW keep doing and everybody else chimed in''.

Your dev camp reports are why I ended up here in the first place, so always love from me, buddy.
Same here haha before I had kids in 2017, I came here a lot without writing much. Dev camps info were a lot more fun in here vs RDS or any other forums.

I quoted you in our podcast to show that their behaviour were not unoticed. Thank you again !

Alexander Zharovsky has quickly become one of the most intriguing players in the 2025 draft class. Early this season, Alex showed bright flashes of elite hands and high end processing but just couldn’t seem to find the back of the net with any of his choices. After only six points in his first 16 games in the MHL, the dam finally exploded and Zharovsky flooded the league with 44 points in the remaining 29 games. He quickly became one of the most confident players in all of junior hockey and appears to have the potential for many more levels in his development.

Bear would be a dream. But I'd think of moving up to do so. He might escaped the top 10....but 11 to 15....that,s an easy target to get. Just look at the post before mine and see who that guy penciled to go 11 to 15....Lakovic, Aitcheson, Mrtka, Reshny and Cootes. All of them ahead of Bear? Sure...The only reason why is the injury. But if the injury is safe with our doctors, it will be safe with others. If the injury is not safe, well we shouldn't take him.

Let's go and get skills....but get character at the same time. A motor that never stops. A guy that wants to make a difference.
