Sharks UFA's after this season: Granlund, Kunin, Sturm, Rutta, Ceci. I say deal them all for high picks in the next 2-3 years drafts, and/or prospects, and/or strategic player targets.

Almost forgot the goalies, UFA's Blackwood and Vanicek
I feel like the way Macklin is playing, and the signs that Smith and Askarov are showing mean you have to keep Granlund (assuming he is willing to resign).

Whether or not the team will actually be good enough to push for a playoff spot next year, I feel like you have to embrace the positive momentum those guys are bringing. Plus, Cagnoni and Dickinson have a solid chance to be in the lineup next year.

Trading Granlund feels like you are telling the kids and future core guys, who are already starting to carry the team "you aren't allowed to win, yet, stop it" which I don't think is a message you want to send.

What are the chances we get Schaefer without the lottery win? Feels like Chicago could go either way with him or another forward to give Bedard some much needed help. Not sure about the other bottom dwellers.

As of right now? Certainly possible. Hagens, Martone, and Schaefer are all viable choices at 1st overall right now, and while I have yet to see a list with Misa 1st overall, I've seen plenty of him at 2nd and he could still have another gear.
