Misa vs. Schaefer today at 4 PST. Should be a great matchup.
Giving this decision to Schaefer. What a player. Pretty low-key night for Misa compared to usual.

Hagens with a very mediocre night with BC. Yes, I did watch three hockey games simultaneously, yes I have ADHD, no I don't want to talk about it.

Don't tell Pavel!
Or Steve!

I'm really rooting for Hagens to pop off. I want another American star and I enjoy watching him play (usually lol), plus I want two of Schaefer/Misa/Martone to be available if we slip to 3 or god forbid 4. But I've just been consistently whelmed by his play so far this season. Hopefully he goes off at the WJC and starts to really light it up in the second half.

What a shitty draft class this is shaping up to be. 2022 vibes.
I was thinking earlier that it kind of reminded me of 2022 in the sense that I think any of Slafkovsky/Wright/Cooley/Jiricek/Nemec had a legit argument for #1. Personally feel like Schaefer is going to set himself apart at some point. Thankfully I think most of the tanking teams need forward help more than a LHD.

Martone quietly had 4 primary assists. Didn't watch him though so have no idea how he played overall.

All I can say is thank whatever higher power you believe in for the 2024 lottery win.

Speaking of Hagens and BC, can’t help but notice Perreault and Leonard’s points per game rates are down without Smith.

I haven't watched every BC game this year like I did last year, but they're especially missing both Smith and Gauthier on the PP. I would also guess that without Gauthier on a separate line at even strength, Perreault/Hagens/Leonard are seeing the opponents' best constantly. The freshman line was quite sheltered last year, but also didn't play a ton of minutes (which makes their production even more impressive). Overall the team just isn't as good. Tons of freshman and no real secondary scoring. The insane chemistry between Perreault/Smith/Leonard also can't be discounted, it was mind-boggling how they always knew what the others were doing before it happened.
