I wonder why is that poster frustrated for the situation, when he is getting 16:45min icetime at men's league? That's pretty good place to be for development.

Points will come, after keeping consistent good effort.

I still think Hockeyallsvenskan this year would be better for him this year and getting alot of icetime in every situation. HA is also a league Svrcek would trive in compared to SHL which is more defensive.

My best guess is its not the offensive skill which Svrcek posseses and is clearly shown in that clip that keeps him from SHL spot, but rather if you watch him in a game his defensive work and battle against boards (that will improve if he got alot of icetime say in HA).

This was a Championship League game (or whatever those games are called), and he said the team sat most of their regular lineup. That's why Svrcek got so much ice time. Normally he's lucky to get 30 seconds.

The 18 year olds that thrives in Hockeyallsvenskan are far and few between.

He played 7 minutes in the SHL game last night and was unlucky to not score. Team lost 0-1 and a lot of pundits believe they will be getting rid of an established forward soon. Pretty sure he’ll be given more and more ice time, he’s also training with Bäckström and Silfverberg on a daily basis, they are training extremely hard and are good role models for the kids.

Svrcek might be heading to Hockeyallsvenskan on loan. Södertälje are actively working on it according to the most reliable Swedish transfer guru.

That would be good move. SHL with small ice-time could be too tough for him, but juniors are too easy for him as well. Allsvenskan-level would be ideal at this point.

Short write up of his WJC tournament from Steven Ellis.

Svrček had a decent tournament. He played his best hockey against the United States, when he proved a handful to defend against. Offensively, I was hoping for more as one of two NHL-drafted forwards on the squad, but it just never seemed to happen. I think he’s best as a support player who allows the people around him to great chances while he chases guys to force them into mistakes.

Ideally would have liked to see him go NCAA, but think he will have a productive season in the O.
He's a bit of a lottery ticket, so I'm fine with him going the OHL route. We need him to be a scorer in order for him to have a role in Detroit, and my hope is he'll pile up the points in the Ontario Hockey League.
