NFL GDT: 2025 NFL DRAFT Thread

He actually told teams not to draft him or he wasn’t going to sign.
I believe when it comes to Lael Collins it was if he wasn't drafted by a specific point. But, no team was gonna draft him in that range given the sheer amount of unknown on something they couldn't do a deep dive on quickly.

So what is it that causes the talking heads to have so much daylight between themselves and reality? How do Kiper and Smith and Acho all believe he's a can't miss top 15-ish prospect who is just falling for inexplicable reasons?

He had this setup for round 1, which came and went that didn’t produce anything.

Round 2 and 3 went, nothing. Man is getting humbled in a professional level. Now rounds 4 to 7, someone will bound to draft him.

Then he can use that custom draft room to good use.

They never met him.

They also never seem to mention how QB friendly his offenses were. That's a big part of this equation, IMO. Lack of physical tools, lack of NFL caliber skills, lack of the right attitude and mindset to put in the work to make up for those issues. They can't get past his name and his college stats and highlights, neither of which are even that special to begin with.

It's also mostly from ESPN so they're just carrying over this nonsense from their college football coverage

Anything related to Deion gets eyes on their broadcasts but I bet this has been too much for many

There’s valid reasoning behind the hype when you consider the ratings of Colorado games. Love or hate, the viewing public was interested in them specifically. They drew like a top 5 team did. The idea of blackballing Deion Sanders doesn’t make any sense unless the Jaguars were the only team that was ever taking Travis Hunter that high.

It’s no different than cable news

Sanders not yet being picked is not a disgrace. Many quarterbacks with question marks were picked in later rounds and managed to have good careers.

in reading some comments from pro scouts who interviewed him, it sounds like he has his fathers swagger but not talent and he has pissed off a lot of scouts. You can have swagger if you have the stats from Uni to back it up, He played under his father who spoon feed him everything and he lost the Alamo bowl.

The question is can he become a team player. If he wants to play DB? He may have to head to Canada for a year or two

They know exactly why he hasn't been picked, they just can't say it because it destroys their credibility as "scouts" and "analysts." They were compromised and over valued him to try and pressure any 1 team into drafting him.

They have hyped him up all cycle long and tried to will him into being a Top 5 pick. This is their monster they helped create, and these billion dollar operations don't want to f*** with it. just because the media says "Browns, Saints, Raiders or Steelers are gonna draft him in Rd1" doesn't make it so. That is their problem. they created their own headcanon and they got a reality check.

It's not racism and trying to put that spin on it is dishonest. QBs taken before him were black, white, polynesian. If this is how the media and talking heads act to him not being drafted in the first 3 rounds, then how are they gonna act when the team that drafts hims starting QB has a bad game? They will be drumming up the drama saying "start Shedeur he is ready start him why aren't you starting him? start him. start him." and it will kill the room

A is for Attitude. He has more than he should. you are believing the Hype his father has created for him
T is for Team. the big question is he a team player? From the interviews I have seen? He blames everyone else for anything that goes wrong

Agreed--some people are buying the hype machine.. take away all the hype look at his actually game? To me he does not look like a good QB

I think both things can be true - Sanders as a first round prospect always seemed fraught and more a product of a content machine and, also, he probably shouldn’t be out there in the 4th while a guy like Dillon Gabriel goes ahead of him.

Shough is Brandon Weeden 2.0 and Gabriel has no future in the NFL. No matter what you think of Sanders and his media circus, he's miles better than both guys and could give you starter reps one day and I'm not even that high on the guy but this is insanity. If the Jets weren't a clown show team, I'd love him in NY but I think they'd probably the one spot that shouldn't draft him at all or even if the insanity of him being a UDFA happens then that too.

Yeah I definitely hate it. He’s probably better than Rattler, but not enough to not make me hate the pick more. The Saints will be in the top 5 next year anyways, so that will be their real opportunity.

As a Jets fan, I wanted no part of this qb class which is why I was A-ok with Fields in free agency. Anyone who was forced to take a QB besides the Titans this draft I think made a massive mistake because waiting a year for the 2026 class and 2027 with Arch and Lagway was so much better.

If I’m staying consistent in my QB development theorems, is that Shough is going to see the field. And I am steadfast that QB’s are wasted picks unless tire going to get on the field. So I can’t rip the thought process even if I am against the player, I have to give some benefit of the doubt. But I think this time next year when the Saints are presented with a better QB class and a top 5 pick, they’ll be forced to do this properly.
