He will likely be a day 2 pick. So a bit surprised that he’s not opting to transfer to another program. Hard to know what numbers for NIL to believe. If he’s getting $3 mill plus id think that would be better for him to transfer.

Teams can move off non first round QBs quick, especially if there is a coaching change.
Somebody is telling him he’s a first round pick and with Allar and Beck staying, it makes it more likely because teams will take quarterbacks more than any other position because they think they’re supposed to

I’d have to imagine you are right that someone is telling him he’s a first round guy in this class. But it’s interesting to try and gauge where that might be. If Ward/Sanders go in the first 4 picks, it seems wild to think any other QB needy team in the top 10 would use a pick that high on Ewers.

Almost have to think his best shot is with a team like the Rams that has a vet QB he can sit behind with 0 expectations for a year or two and go from there. But again, not sure what the Rams’ appetite for using a first on a developmental QB will be. Aside from the Rams, it’s impossible to imagine any team after the Steelers at 21 using a pick on Ewers. At that point you’re hoping for a team to trade back into the late first.

He was promised to be a first rounder by a certain team last year that will be picking late in the first round that has a DFW QB late in his career at QB

Could refer to Hunter, I guess. But he's not really a generational CB or WR talent, as much as he's a generational football talent for his ability to play both sides of the ball. I'm not convinced he's CB1 or WR1 in this draft.

Yeah, I thought of Hunter also, and he might be a very good player, even special, but I think generational might be a bit of a stretch. I know Sanders and Ward have their warts, but I have a hard time imagining the team running it back with Levis

Special is probably a better descriptor, yeah.

I can't imagine bringing back Levis either. He wasn't just bad. He was actively losing them games with his inane turnovers. Super fun to watch though, so I hope someone plays him next season.

In the nfl, logically Hunter is a CB. And gets a package of WR plays. Only a limited number of reps with the QB1 if he’s a CB. Even if he wanted to split reps and snaps evenly, that is still a boatload of film he’d need to study each week on both sides.

Totally agree. I don't understand why people think Hunter is generational. There is no way he will be playing both ways on a game by game basis.

I do think he is a shutdown CB. And then at certain times he could come in and play WR when they need points going into a half or at the end of a game.

If all that was needed was for him to go out and play he could do it. But the bigger issue is the practice and film study. Need timing with QB1. And film study is going to make him better at his position. Studying the WR he has to cover plus QB he’s going against them study defenses of his opponents as well? Guy won’t have a life. Need a break from football during the week.
