May be more reactionary than not, but keeping ears open

i wonder how a world cup run by the NBA would do. I would imagine there would be a ton of interest in that versus an another all-star game or even an in season tournament.

Problem for them is the only 4 countries you could have even close to a full roster would be US, Canada, France, & Australia. Germany only has 8 players and Serbia 6.

NBA would need other leagues' involvement to make it work more than the NHL
