NBA 2025 NBA Playoffs

Happy for OKC, they’ve done a great job building that team but still, what an anti-climactic game 7. Haliburton’s injury just took the life out of it even though Indy hung in there for a good long while.

My god

get Siakam involved
he's not even touching the ball
Yeah I noticed this, too. Not only did he hardly get involved (especially in the 3rd quarter) but he hardly played that 3rd quarter. I mean, sure T.J. McConnell is going to look good when he's the only one taking shots. Someone is going to make baskets, but that's a huge reason why they started the 3rd up 1 and ended it down what, 14? 15?

Siakam is the guy you need to take over the offense if Haliburton isn't there, and the Pacers didn't let him do it.
This has to be awful in you're an Indiana fan. Because it's not just an injury, it's an ACL. Getting this far only to have that happen is crushing.

I can somewhat relate. The '87 Pistons lost both Vinnie Johnson and Adrian Dantley to injury in game 7 of the ECF to Boston. This would be the same series where they lost game 5 to the famous turnover.

Next season, they're up 3-2 in the NBA Finals and their best player (Isiah Thomas) goes down with a bum ankle. Plays on and they nearly pull it out until the famous Phantom Foul occurs in the closing seconds of game 6.

Lakers win, Thomas barely plays in the game 7 and the Lakers repeat as champions. Next season, Detroit would get their revenge and win back-to-back titles.

But the injuries they suffered in those games were nowhere near as severe as what happened to Haliburton tonight.
Oh yeah, it's a double kick to the nuts for the Pacers because Haliburton may not play all of next season on top of losing game 7 of the finals. Insanely bad turn of events for them.

This was on Siakam not the Pacers. From the way he played in these playoffs I was expecting him to dominate in this game. He reverted back to the Raptors #2 and not a go to guy when I counted.

He went 2 for 7 in the last 3 quarters.

The “science” seems mixed and conflicting but common sense would tell me calf injury == higher risk of Achilles injury.

Compensatory injury

7th straight year with a new NBA champion

Pretty good for the sport

Anyone who says this isn't good for the NBA are grumpy old hats. New year, new champions are pretty good for any sport. As much as people glamour for dynasties, new champs a year is pretty exciting. A team who hasn't won before could win the next year.

Considering we are on a Hockey board, if Florida makes it again and is favored again to go back to back to back in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, I think that might be bad for the sport. Having parity is not a bad thing.

Oh it's fantastic. The NBA went through their lull Warriors vs LeBron years, this is fantastic.

Man NBA twitter HATES Lu Dort

I love the guy

1st team all-nba for Defense

yeah his shot is terrible, but this guy plays hard, he 3 strips in the final 5 minutes.

Shannon Sharpe with his f***ing stupid ‘Lakers in 5’ bullshit had that idiotic ‘Home Court, Lu Dort, Child Support’ phrase must’ve struck a nerve with Dort.

Maybe Shannon should find a new 19 year old OF model to mess around with, man is bored being away from the spotlight.
