2 things that should absolutely be fixed.

1) At the very least, a team that made the play-in should not have a shot at the #1 pick. Put them in play for #2-3-4, sure, but not #1.

2) The worst team should not fall to 5 in the worst case scenario. Can't imagine how soul sucking it must be to be a Jazz fan after sitting through that season and getting the 5th pick.

I would argue the concept of draft lotteries just need to be done away with in general. The NFL still doesn't have one and they seem to do fine.

Hockey's is dumb (like really, the Islanders who just barely missed the playoffs really needed that #1 pick? And Utah needed 2?), baseball's is even worse. Basketball is just inviting people to talk shit with theirs.

A contender gets to add a generational 1st overall pick just like that

A team being in the play-in and winning the lottery is Adam Silver’s wet dream that he got to see in living color tonight

It's not shady at all that Dallas won after gifting LA Luka, nope. Then the Wemby Spurs 2nd, and even the Sixers 3rd, like really?

These lottery systems are a joke. The 3 worst teams in a league should not be picking 4th, 5th and 6th. Is a couple years of tanking really worse than 5-10 or more years of perpetual mediocrity (or worse) for teams like the Hornets and Wizards? Does the league really think they're better off giving bad contracts to mediocre players just to win 38 games and be a play in team?

The NHL has a similar problem, though it doesn't seem rigged like the NBA at least.

Flagg has to go back to college or force a trade. Fans & media are dumb. Luka left, Flagg is the 1st OA pick, and they will put tons of unwarranted pressure on a 19-year-old.

Lmao. The Cavs can win every lottery after losing Lebron. The f***ing Pelicans can land Zion in lieu losing AD. The Mavs can land Flagg after losing Luka.

Lose big star. Win lotto. Got it

Don't forget the Pelicans winning the lottery after trading CP3.

Or the Bulls winning with low odds when hometown hero Derrick Rose was the top prospect.

Or the OG rig of Ewing to the Knicks.

if you look at the OTHER 3 lowest in history, a pattern seems to emerge LMAO. the lowest is the magic in 94 (recent expansion team, bankrolled by disney, recently drafted shaq and barely missed the playoffs, eventually get penny after drafting webber). next 2 are the cavs in 2014 (lebron going back home, #1 prospect is maple jordan andrew wiggins) and the bulls in 2008 (hometown d-rose was consensus #1).
