2025 Musings and News: Tis the Off-season

Eagles must be against the cap. Not a great offseason for them after winning the title.

First they let 80% of their title defense walk. Now this.

I get it's a business but man it feels like Philly is going to dry up soon. Just can't afford to keep everyone.

Last I saw, Jurgens the C has the highest base salary next season at like $5 or $6 mill. Everyone else is much lower meaning they’ve been paid as a bonus which is prorated over multiple years. Can’t really make much more cap space since there are no big base salary guys left to drop down.

Kelce, Cox, Slay, Bradbury, Graham, Sweatt, CJGJ, etc dead cap on their books at over $60 mill now.

Howie knows what he’s doing with the cap.
Trust in Howie. Goedart, is more of a pure cash thing than cap savings.

Base is $1.2 mill, with $14 mill as an Option Bonus. The option would be prorated over a few years, so a 1/3 paycut to under $10 mill on that, likely just drops the cap charge by under $2 mill against the cap for 2025.

Colts veteran offensive tackle Braden Smith missed the final five games of last season because of a personal matter.

Now, he's detailing just how intensely personal the situation was.

Smith, in an interview with the Indianapolis Star published Tuesday, said he was engaged in a lengthy mental health battle as he struggled with a type of obsessive-compulsive disorder that prompted him to spend 48 days in a treatment facility and to ultimately resort to a psychedelic drug that he believes helped save him.

Smith, 29, said he was eventually diagnosed with a condition known as religious scrupulosity. According to the International OCD Foundation, religious scrupulosity differs from the healthy practice of religion because it is driven by anxiety over engaging in actions that might offend God or be seen as blasphemous. This creates obsessive behavior -- including constant prayer or repeated repentance -- that can begin to dominate a person's daily life.

Personally I think teams need to pick a scheme and go with it.
Eagles I think current ones are better than Kelly green.
Pats, the red looks better
Broncos, orange crush looks better.
TB, stick with the red and purter
Sea, can go either way. Navy looks solid but the royal blue is nice.

Seahawks throwback uniforms are GOAT
agreed. I like the color combo of the royal blue, grey helmet/pants and some green.

I like their current FONT vs the throwback FONT. Should never have gone to the Hasselback all blue look. But, I think they just wanted something different heading into Lumen Field.
