  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Well, 2025 is in full swing and racing is back. I know @NjDevsRR told us that Indy car would be on a main network this season. I'll leave it to him to describe that for us. I will make the effort to watch and learn more about it than just the Indy 500.

As for Formula 1, they got underway this weekend. A rainy race down under. Norris for McLaren took the lead and never looked back. Verstappen in the Red Bull threatened for a bit but could not quote match Norris's pace. The much anticipated start of Hamilton in a Ferrari was anticlimactic as he never got to the leaders.

I enjoy the uncertainty of watching a wet track race so I found this one reasonably fun. I still have an overriding concern that the cars are too good and essentially each race in good conditions will boil down to a one stop race where the only real lead change at the top is based on the timing of the pit stop but we will see.

OH MY YEAH

Great start to the F1 calendar with a wild race weekend.

IndyCar had a fantastic start on Fox a few weeks ago, record viewership. Next race is this weekend.

Nascar is nascar, some excellent racing to start the season there

Please chime in with an Indy car reminder late this week and tell us what to watch for. I'm excited to pick that up. I miss the old World Rally Championship racing from the early 2000s when the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo and the Subaru WRX went head to head.

Supercars also had an incredible race a few weeks ago. Go to the 11:30 min mark and watch from there

I was so bummed for Piastri, but he did a great job of still getting p9. Norris is just so off putting to me.
Norris is awkward but seems sincere. Let's face it, most of these guys are from very privileged backgrounds and on some level needed huge resources along the way to have any chance to succeed. I'm not surprised the personalities are a mixed bag. I don't particularly like Verstappen's attitude at times but listening to him rip the car and the rest of the team during the race when he's in the top three is always fun.

Max can be spicy for sure, but for whatever reason he never bothered me. Norris was sincere initially and super charismatic with the press and added levity, but I think the journalists tried to match his light hearted energy too much and it rubbed him the wrong way, and now he just comes across as a knob.

I watched Dirt racing, Nascar Xfinity and even stayed up for the F1 race past Saturday. I had to move on quickly from a shitty performance by the Devils in Pittsburgh. Thanks for posting the Supercars! IMSA's spec Mazda Miata division is wildly entertaining too!

So the rolling side show landed in China this week. The most exciting part of thr race was after it ended when both Ferraris were disqualified. The race itself was ho hum. Props to Piastri who has arrived. Props to Norris for managing that brakes at the end. Russell drove his usual smart composed race as did Verstappen.
