2025 MLB Regular Season Thread: the Baseballening

Dodgers announcers said that no one has gone 0-7 to start a season and made the Playoffs. Braves are on the clock to try and change that. Going to be tough in their division

So, yeah....a week in and this season sucks.

Though, the armchair GM in me has been saying that it's time to start looking at future alternatives for the Braves core who has now been together for about 5 or 6 years. Guys like Albies, Ozuna, Arcia, Murphy (our catcher prospect is awesome) could fetch some great future talent if it comes to being sellers at the deadline.

Half your lineup is pretty good, but the other half is filled with a bunch of no-names. Also hurts not having Acuna back yet.

Not really... Harris, Riley, Olson, Ozuna, Albies, Baldwin (top prospect) all still there. Most have been there for years.

Profar, Acuna, Murphy all out
 
The Braves are one of the best run organizations in baseball. Their poor start is baffling

What's crazy is that it was the pitching that everyone has been screaming for and never came. But it turns out, team can't hit a lobbed beachball at the moment.

No team in the history of the league has made the postseason after starting 0-7.

Not too early.

yeah but how much of that history had so many teams making the playoffs as now? For most of MLB history 85 wins wasn't getting you anywhere near the playoffs

Agreed, but it has been over a decade since multiple wildcard teams have been added. Definitely not too early to be baffled. 0-7 is very concerning.
 
Charlie Morton comes both as advertised and not as advertised. I get he felt like he didn't finish his year as well as he wanted, last year, but at 41 and throwing 20+ pitches an inning...I'm pretty sure this year won't finish off the way he wants, either. Too bad the Orioles have no one to replace him.
 
The Reds are the first team to lose three consecutive games 1-0 since the 1960 Phillies, who completed the feat against the Reds.

Played 6 games and already 6 games behind in the division and we can't pick higher than 10th in the draft next year because Manfred is a [redacted] 💔
 
Dramatic end to the Phillies/Dodgers game. Phillies up 3-2 in the top of the ninth. Dodgers have a runner on first, one out. Batter strikes out and the runner attempts to steal, called safe, but the Phillies challenge. Call is overturned, runner out, Phillies win. I think it’s the first time I’ve seen a game end on a video review.

Phillies and Dodgers have a hell of a game going on. 8-7 in the 8th.
