Ritchie is really just kind of there for Canada so far since the exhibition games. Was hoping he'd have more of an impact.

He and Cowan have no chemistry, and Cowan keeps demanding the puck and then giving it away. They really should separate the two of them

Honestly, this entire tournament has been kind of meh for me so far. Seen lots of sloppy play from every team but then again I'm not used to watching juniors and am not sure how much of the missed passes are normal.

USA has looked okay. Wasn't a fan of today's game vs Finland. As for Canada, they just don't look like a team. I don't think the players are trying to hotdog and do it all themselves, but there is just no real good chemistry and it often looks like whoever has the puck thinks they are in this thing alone.

Out of curiosity, am I being too harsh on the tourny this year? Or does it seem like its being played at a lower level than in years past to others as well?

That was an epic failure coaching job from that schmuck cameron. For me, eastern coward has been the worst Canada player. From his useless, easily stoppable weak wristers at the net, to his extended shifts, to his last-man back backchecks - he sticks out as the bad wheel on that line but the coach stays the course like he's fishing for a job with the leafs.

Last night, he takes the most useless penalty of all time - in a 2-1 game with less than 10 minutes left in the game and Canada gets scored on. What does the coach do? Puts him right back out there.

Canada deserves to lose. You just can't win with a moron at the helm.

Latvia made that way too close for comfort for Sweden. Shots were still like 50-15 but one goal game. Latvia’s goalie has been the goaltender of the tournament so far.

USA absolutely hammering Switzerland. It’s 3-0 in the first period. Americans not even celebrating their goals. Hagens turned the goalie inside out for the 2-0 goal and just glided away like nothing happened. All business.

Looked like Sweden was going to coast - shots were 28-2 when that 4-0 goal was called back - and then Latvia got to work doing Latvia things.

Doesn't look like USA will be having the same trouble with Switzerland. 5-1 midway through the game.

I have not been fond of the officiating at all in the tournament.

I thought the NHL had problems with a discrepancy between what they call and let go. Holy crap these Mr. McGoo's have no clue what is happening anywhere on the ice. They can't see four feet in front of them, much less monitor what is happening in their periphial.

My one and last comment on officiating in this tournament.

Anyone actually watching can see that cowan is completely neutering that line. He's STILL trying to do it all himself. First shift of the game, he dumps it is - too himself - then turns it over and it's 1-0 for the other team. He's garbage and at this point has no shot at the NHL because he seemingly doesn't learn.

That pissed me off.

He had Ritchie ahead of him in the neutral zone for a simple 5 foot pass, instead he dumps it in, chases it down, wins it and passes it backward past Ritchie for a turnover.

Dude really thinks he’s the main character.
