Plus an all time great OBP which seems better for longevity than a player who is all SLG.A free agent this good at this age is a true unicorn situation. Best possible rush to take on a huge deal. Absolutely time for them to get back in the game.
Just watched Morosi do his daily spot on Hot Stove - he acts like Soto going to MetsOdd syntax, obviously due to translating -- but encouraging. (I think)

Pete Abraham called out the report as made up
Shank said not biting
I’m still going all in if Sox offer $600 M he’s here no matter what else is offered by anyone else
I got him here in my mind - so if he’s not I will be irkedI'm not betting a dime he comes here --- but I think they're way more involved than I ever expected.
There's logic and reasons for him to go to any one of 5 places -- as always it will come down to who he's most comfortable with.
Crossing my fingers the Dominican influence carries weight.
I want Soto signed and the 5th WS in 21 years under an ownership most fans sports hatePlus an all time great OBP which seems better for longevity than a player who is all SLG.
Morosi swings and misses as much as Rob Deer when his career was about over........Morosi's really going out on a limb with that prediction.
*Breaking News*: Free agent will sign by the end of the most common signing period of the offseason.
I think Boras probably wants it announced on the 8th, so it's all anyone will talk about on the first day of the winter meetings, and then he can focus on trying to get his other top guys signed over the remaining few days. And, to me, that means anything you hear before the 5th/6th is just BS because I don't think he's brining Soto into the negotiating/decision-making until a couple teams are left.
