Emphasis on value hopefully

Been looking into Arenado’s fit for Fenway, he is a dead pull guy that’s pretty good at optimizing his launch angle, even with the decline in his bat. Elite bat to ball skills, just doesn’t hit it particularly hard. I think we’d get slightly above average value from his stick and very good defense. Career .333/.362/.704 at Fenway in a small sample doesn’t hurt (6 dongs in 58 PA)

Don't try to put lipstick on this pig. This would be the peak of cheapness from those ownership.

So instead of paying Bregman, they're going to trade for a rapidly declining 34 yr old and deal a top power hitting prospect as a sweetener so that St Louis will eat salary.

I like Arenado better then Bregman, but a free agent is better than trading assets for someone. Then again, if the Arenado deal gets us out of Masa's contract, it's a two birds with one stone sort of thing, so I'm not sure what I prefer.

I'm pretty sure they lose two draft picks and international bonus pool money if they sign Bregman. Might be cheaper to get Arenado....

They're not gonna a take Masa. They'll want Casas. And to me, that's a ridiculous and unnecessary trade.

Sure. Maybe in fantasy land. They only want Arenado if the Cards eat most of the remaining salary. This is pretty obvious what is going on since they pretty much tried the same in the Castillo-talks.

I have to imagine they are looking to sign Vladdy Jr. In the off-season and don't want to spend long term money prior to that.

And last year the same was said about Soto / Burnes / Fried. It goes on and on.

I interpreted it that the Arenado deal is contingent on the Sox trading Casas in a separate deal.

On a similar note, I didn’t think all three were in the cards.

Personally, I’d rather Arenado for three years than Bregman for six….and I like Bregman.

Not getting too worked up about the rumors at the moment. I like Casas too, but can’t help but be a little discouraged with how long it took him to get back last summer…….fair or not, can’t help how I feel.

I’d be good with..

Duran CF
Devers DH
Arenado 3B
Casas 1B
Story SS
Abreu RF
Wong C
Rafaela CF
Hamilton 2B
