Boston Expos.

I hate getting another Chris Sale right after he cueked us and wins a Cy Young for another team while we pay him and after he stole a living for 5-6 years never pitching. Trade is OK Teel is the best one to move we have been good at catcher for years and know how to identify them.

Bregman with Devers at 1B/DH is solid but we are dumb and will just move him to 2B. If we are being cheap AF don't stop here try and pay someone to take Story.

Immediate report is that this trade means they're out on Burnes.

The trade makes way more sense if they now sign Burnes! Just confirms what seems obvious: they did this because it doesn't cost them money, only prospects.

Mid-market run organization.
Ya and that's the part that should still have everyone pissed. Spend some god damn money or stop charging fans out the ass.

Ace talent.

Gotta pitch more than 146 innings in any season before you're an actual ace. Them's the rules.
Blake Snell has only surpassed 129 innings twice in his 9 year career and is very much considered and ace. He has only reached 180 innings in each of those two years. Crochet would have likely approached that at least if he wasn't being held back due to potential trade. Just an observation....

Very very very very different resumes, no?

And they held him back because he was coming off TJ. He's got one season as a starter and was extremely limited for half of it. (That's actually an understatement.) Yet they paid an absolutely premium price for him when they easily could have signed more established free agents.

They made this trade because they get him cheap for two seasons. It's a rinky dink organization that doesn't give a shit about winning they just don't want anyone to say they don't care.

Is there a single thing any of the Boston teams do you don't like? When's the last time you really hated a move by any of them?
I will do Red Sox - hated the Cecil Cooper for George Scott trade (my all timer - and when I met Jim Rice 25 years ago I said I don’t want to bother you for an autograph I just went to say I’m still pissed about the Cooper trade. For a second he was processing it because he didn’t expect it, then laughed and gave me a ball at his insistence for my kid who was not there)

Hated the Reggie Smith deal to St Louis

Fred Lynn deal

Theo signing Mike Cameron

Hated not resigning Eovoldi & Wacha

Hated FA signings of Hanley Ramirez & Pablo Sandoval

Betts obviously

The Lester deal to Oakland

Hated Duquette deal of Jamie Moyer for Darren Bragg

Hated Ben ‘banana man’ Oglivie for washed up Dick McAuliffe

Hated the Jack Clark, Danny Darwin, and the Matt Young

Hated signing Kenley Jansen

Hated Sparky Lyle for Danny Cater. Lyle incidentally lived st the time in North Shore Gardens in Peabody - same time and place as Bobby Orr, Ross Lonsberry, Joe Watson, Eddie J, and trainer John Forrstall (Watson & Lonsberry went to Broad Street Bullies & won 2 Cups)

Bloom wasn’t a fan so most of his moves were not to my liking

I did like
Story
Vazquez & Renfroe deals because I knew he got good prospects
Sale deal - like Grissom
Whitlock rule 5

He lost me on Eovoldi & Wacha

trading Rick Burleson

Theo - signing Lugo hated

Schilling deal liked

Eckersley deal with Indians for Wise, Paxton, a 3B Cooper ? Guy who went 5/5 or something crazy

Hated Tony C deal for Doug Griffin & Tatum the reliever

Loved Pedro deal for kid from Dartmouth Rose & the other P name escapes

Loved loved midnight deal by Duke for Varitek & Lowe for that stiff Heathcliffe Slocunb

Hated Ken ‘the Hawk’ Harrelson for Sonny Seibert

Hated friend of DKH, John Tudor for Mike Easler

Hated letting Clemons go and signing Steve Avery & Shane Mack

Loved the Beltre & Victor Martinez signing

This is off top of my head probably 100 more

Casas for Castillo is an all time stupid move. Don't do it Craig, just use MONEY and sign Burnes.
They can have Yoshida for Castillo if they like though! I do like the stability a Castillo could provide, but not for Cases unless they take Yoshida too and throw in a good prospect. Sox could sign Walker or Alonso to play first. Could also sign Bregman, or trade for Aronado. Lot of interesting options. I still would have thrown Casas and Abreu at Oakland and see if they might reconsider dealing Rooker.

I go and get some food and now they're trying to trade for another pitcher? Casas cannot be a part of that deal. I think this year we could see a 30+HR, 80-100 RBI season, flirting with .900 OPS.

I think they soured on him when he took his time coming back from injury last year.
