I think it's all first year inductees. Price, Chara, Keith, Thornton.

As @jigglysquishy said, I think Price, Thornton, Chara, and Keith are locks.
I'd love to see Getzlaf in there and Spezza is a personal favorite but they're going to have to wait.
Zetterberg would be the choice if they extended out to older candidates.

I think you'll be correct, but I could also see them trying to make space to put Thornton and Marleau in at the same time.
I feel like if Marleau has any shot, it will have to be in the same class as Thornton. Mind you, they shouldn't, but I don't think you have to squint too hard to see that happening.
Probably and I stating to wonder if Zetterberg will end up on the outside looking in?

Those were the names that jumped out to me as well. All popular candidates with the right people, and for once none of them would be a contender for lowering the bar (whether that says they're strong candidates or the bar is on the floor is open to discussion).
It's quite rare to have this many quality candidates, including five who are almost certain to eventually be inducted, become eligible at the same time.
It seems most people think those four guys - Thornton, Chara, Price, Keith - will be inducted this year. They very well might, but I wouldn't say it's a lock; it's difficult to absolutely predict what the Selection Committee will do.
Personally, I would definitely vote for Getzlaf this year. And maybe one of the older guys from way back also.

I think he gets in some time in the next five years.
Next year is more open
Patrice Bergeron is a lock. Eric Staal is likely. After that I don't think anyone gets in.
Then 2027 is another open year. The best candidate is Pavelski. Gaudreau might get in for the obvious reason.
2028 is another open year too. Fleury is the only easy answer. Unless Suter, Burns, and Perry retire after these playoffs.
After that gets hard. Malkin and Ovechkin are maybe 2029? Letang, Crosby, Kopitar, Giroux, Marchand, Kane, and Doughty surely aren't much after that. And Jagr is a question mark.
I do think some time in 2026, 2027, or 2028 we see Zetterberg in.
Yeah, he's a guy who I figured would walk straight into the HHOF and I'm quite surprised they seem to have drawn a line on him to this point.

The Sedins getting in on their first try and Zetterberg still having to wait irks me. They got in as a package deal. Good story but I'd take Zetterberg over either individual player. Those guys disappeared when the games got tougher.
I'd like to see one of Martinec/Holecek honored. I doubt any of the Soviet players like Firsov/Mikhailov are getting in due to current politics.
Obviously Chara, Keith, Thornton are getting in.
Some woman and some builder will make it.
That leaves room for one or two other players besides the bolded three.
Is Price really a lock?

Wish I could time travel back to 1999 to tell someone Jaromir Jagr isn't in the HHOF in 2025.
Would the assumption be that he fell off the face of the earth production-wise, or pulled a Pete Rose? Murdered someone? Or would people assume it was a Gordie Howe situation?

Seeing Price name, made me realize that he will be the first player in the history of the Montreal Canadiens to have his jersey retired without having won a Stanley Cup with the franchise.

Will he ? There is 19 numbers already out for players to pick from in Montreal.
Toe Blake number has yet to go up, they could want a recent one and do it, but I am not sure if it is certain.

I think he will, the guy played his entire career for Montreal, many will say the best goalie of his generation, he was part of a team that went to the Stanley Cup finals (that no one expected), and i think he will be a first class hall of famer. He also won the MVP of the league...
