2025 Hfboards NFL Mock DRAFT Discussion

Those are two great pieces for Houston with both solid floors and meaningful upsides. Well done.

FWIW Mike Tice has Simmons ahead of both Membou and Campbell. That injury is going to end up being tremendous value for someone.

I love athletic OL who were wrestlers and play like it. That's such a Ravens pick. (complimentary)
I was debating Arroyo vs Fannin. I just like Fannin having more reps.

Had Sampson still been on the board, I might have just said the Colts should abandon the passing game altogether. Now, Howard will compete with Richardson and Jones for the starting spot. He probably won't be good. But neither are they.

I’m finished with both my drafts.

For the Broncos it went almost perfectly for me. Nix needs weapons and it got three for him.
1/20 - Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State
2/51 - Harold Fannin Jr, TE, BGSU
3/85 - Jack Bech, WR, TCU
4/122- Billy Bowman Jr, S, Oklahoma

I HIGHLY doubt Jeanty drops to #20 IRLand for the Broncos the only player I would pick over him is Travis Hunter. Had he been gone at #20 my pick would have been Omarion. The Broncos really need an RB in the first two rounds.

I got my favorite of the second tier of TEs in the 2nd and my favorite receiver of the second tier with Bech.

Fannin looks like that Joker Payton has been pining for.

Judging by his Saints teams, Payton looks like a total size queen on receivers. Bech is 6’2” and plays even bigger. Sure handed guy who fights tooth and nail for the ball should be good as at least a safety valve for a young QB.

Bowman is undersized and a bad tackler for a safety, but I think he can be a good nickel with his smarts, speed and ball hawking.

1/2 Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado
2/33 Josh Conerly Jr, OT, Oregon
3/67 Brashard Smith, RB, SMU
3/94 Jared Ivey, DE, Ole Miss
4/104 Jalen Royals, WR, Utah State

Happy with this draft, although I will admit I took Brashard Smith too high. I was sick and didn't take the time to see who was available. I made up for it with Ivey and Royals though!

Smith isn't bad at all, just bad value there.

The rest looks great.

Yeah, definitely great value on those last two. Was really hoping Royals would slide to me at 108 and was surprised he almost made it there with so many other WRs going in the 3rd.

I had Royals typed out at 95 ready to post before I happened to notice Arroyo was still available.

I would guess he got some other strong consideration too. Good player.

I don't think Smith is that out of place. The players picked in Rounds 3-5 can vary greatly depending on how teams scout and then who they end up liking.

The blocking scheme amongst other things like who else they have at the position can matter too. Same on the defensive side with some guys being best suited for man coverage or zone. This can be short sighted though considering how quick coaches get fired in this league.

For my Falcons Draft:

1/15 Nick Emannwori, S, South Carolina
2/46 Kyle Kennard, Edge, South Carolina
4/118 David Walker, Edge, Central Arkansas

ATL is desperate for pass rush but the 1st round ate up the blitzers I was interested in and decided to go with Nick E's star potential at a position of lesser need.

After that I just pressed hard for pass rushers, while hating drafting Edgers with like 5 sacks on the year.

Kennard is a local kid and is a good swing at the Edge.

Might have reached a round early on David Walker, but I figure it's worth the risk. If he isn't just a product of small school competition and makes it at least as a 3rd down rush specialist, he's well worth the 4th.

I don't know if CJ West's full name is Chaddarian Jadrian, but ChatGPT suggested it, so that's my best guess :)

EDIT: I guess Chaddarian is his first name, couldn't find info on J.

You screwed my 1st round ! Nick Emannwori was my target. His potential in a Mike McDonald scheme would have been awesome (like Kyle Hamilton in Baltimore)

Sorry for missing the pick, I got the notification when I woke up in the morning and then just didn't have a chance to get back on HF to look and pick an eligible guy with how crazy work was.

There are several guys that I would like for the Broncos in the 1st round and Emmannwori is about the only defensive I really would consider.

Kansas City doesn’t have a 5, so that will wrap it up for me. Thanks, gents. That was fun. Double thank you to @Goalie_Bob for running it.

Jihaad Campbell
Aireontae Ersery
Darien Porter
Elijah Arroyo
Devin Neal

Athletic playmakers, an OT who can play immediately, and a great RB fit for the Chiefs’ current scheme. Definitely not where I expected to go with some of those picks, but you have to be willing to go where the board takes you. Ended up pretty damn happy with it.

Just finished up the Vikings draft, only 3 picks at the moment.

1.24 - CB/S Jahdae Barron, Texas
3.97 - DL Shemar Turner. Texas A&M
5.139 - RB RJ Harvey, UCF

I think I did well here all things considered. IRL I think they're likely to trade down from 24 to acquire more picks as they only have 4 in this draft, but that didn't materialized here. Barron is probably the 2nd best CB in the draft, and has versatility at S too and is a perfect fit for what Flores does. Turner I thought was a great value pick, and at a position of need. They signed 2 guys this offseason but they're both old. As I said above I was praying Neal fell to 139 and he almost made it so took a shot with Harvey there, he has some versatility and Ty Chandler, the current RB3, is a JAG.

Would have liked to get a G to push Brandel or a C to be the heir apparently to Kelly but the at the time of my picks there was no G I'd pick over who I did.

Horton's not the deep threat I was hoping to get for the Raiders but I think he's the best WR available and I don't feel like reading more scouting reports right now.

When he went up against Colorado in 2023, they couldn’t do anything against him.
