I would move Parekh for #2 or 3 (assuming Schaefer goes 1/2)... However, I would not be willing to add a 1st to him, a 2nd, sure. But I feel like if these guys were his draft class last year, that he's have been close to that top tier, if not in it.

I think the better option is to hit up Seattle, Anaheim and Buffalo and put Ras on the table... see if any of them bite as at least 2 of them could use a good RHD.

He fell to us last year. For most of the season he was projected around 4-6 last year. This year I think he goes at highest #5. I think Schaefer, Misa, Hagens, and Martone are all 1 rank above him

I think some of you guys are sort of getting lost in draft number versus the actual prospect.
What Parekh did in junior back to back years is unheard of, in his first NHL game he looked solid... I think in a vacuum, you could sell me on him being the best non-NHL prospect in the world right now; and I actually think there's a pretty viable case for it.

Not saying it's happening (because this is a long way to go and a high water mark for sure) but the way this guy plays, in his first game it gave you lots of what made pre-injury Erik Karlsson a pseudo-generational talent... That ability to play that rover style and make gambles/plays that only he could get away with.

I would love a guy like Misa as much as the next person, he'd instantly become our best forward prospect... likely since D+3 Gaudreau; but no reason to rob Peter to pay Paul here; we are devoid of talent throughout the roster.

Parekh was a steal at 9 like Tkachuk was at 6 and Zayne would easily go top 3 in a re-draft.

Flames have their stud #1 goalie, they have their stud #1 d-man, their missing the hardest piece to get, but Karlsson and Makar (to a lesser extent because he had MacKinnon, but who won the Conn Smythe..hmmm) proved that a #1 d-man is just as important if they are at the tippy top tier of players.

While I agree with the premise of your statement, saying Parekh would easily go top 3 in a re-draft is pretty premature. Picks 1, 2, and 5 are already playing in the NHL and look good. Buium is also already in the NHL and there is absolutely an argument he should go above Zayne. I think Sennecke was a reach at #3 but the Ducks also reached with McTavish at 3 a couple years ago and that panned out nicely. Lindstrom is a beast, if he can stay healthy he will be a very good hockey player. Zayne almost certainly should have gone before Yakemchuk and Iginla though, Catton is a bit of a toss up.

This... Buium, Dickenson and Parekh were supposed to be gone by the time the Flames pick came and they were supposed to be stumped on which forward to take between Iginla and Catton. I almost think that Conroy was projecting the draft when he made the trades last season with getting young dmen as part of the returns.

Parekh has easily moved up into the top 4 of this draft IMO. Celebrini, Demidov, Buuim, Parekh. Those are the top 4 guys at this point. I like Levshunov and Dickinson too but they have limited ceilings from what I’ve seen.
Sennecke was a hilarious reach, should have gone mid first. Silayev is good but has limited offensive potential, he’s a slightly better Bahl. Lidstrom is a beast but he’s hurt. Catton is good but I don’t think he’s a first liner in the NHL. Iginla had a tough year with injury. Yak had a terrible year.

A bit early, but yes, as of April 23rd, 2025 in a redraft I'd have a hard time seeing Parekh not be a top 3-5 guy.
This could change by this time next year, but Calgary looks to have hit a massive home run with that 9th pick (that I, admittedly, didn't like at the time).

You undervalue Levshunov, maybe he doesn't have the same offensive potential as the other 2 but he will be very strong at both ends of the ice. Pietrangelo 2.0. He got called up after Jones was moved and looked very solid. Also can't write off Lindstrom because of the injury, he was almost a goal per game.

Look im trying to view it through as little bias as possible. I've seen Levshunov play and he looks really composed out there. I think he has all the tools to be a surefire #1. Him being scouted as a clear top 3 pick and then getting taken 2nd is certainly not mistake by any means yet. He is playing in the NHL already too

Also Pietrangelo is from the exact same draft class as Doughty, Karlsson, Carlson, Josi. As good as he is he is not the best defenseman in his own class.
