Just wanted to stop by and speak to you about keeping the integrity of the game. Calgary is about a .500 team, been some talk they will throw their season to keep top 10 pick. If you do this, it's not how hockey is played.
If Calgary is throwing their season what is Montreal doing? Just a terrible team with hugely overrated players by an overzealous fan base I guess?

The Habs can give us the pick back for any our forwards not named Zary and try to go for the playoffs themselves

As of right now, Calgary is essentially trending to finish right near where they did last year.
Last year was 81 points, right now we are trending towards 89. Considering that majority of our points came out of the 5 game win streak to start the year, likelihood is that we'll be somewhere in that 70-84 point range to finish off the year.

That'd put us in a spot to draft someone in that top 5-6 and really start helping turn this organization around.

Have to assume guys like Kadri will get to a point where losing won't be much fun and they'll ask to leave too. It just is what it is.

I honestly prefer having a team of veterans with some youth sprinkled in stink it up over a bunch of 18-21 year olds who just create a losing cycle.

We REALLY need to get into that top 5. Any of them.

He's not Lockin17 (Slaf)

I'm not sure how Habs fans laughing at his proposals makes him any less of a troll. On the trade board he said he hopes his Habs lose to the Flames today. What kind of fake fan mentality is that? Should be embarrassed to say that.
There are two of those special Habs fans, this is the other one.

If something looks stupid and trolling, but its not trolling, then its just stupidity. Just my guess of course.

Which Montreal fan was it that kept spelling Iginla's name wrong, and trying to get us to trade for their pick?

Pretty sure this is the same guy with a different name. They can't all be that stupid on the East Coast.

I got 7 top prospects as of right now:
Hagens, Martone, Schaefer, Desnoyers, McQueen, Frondell, Misa.

Any of those would be huge adds to this team moving forward
Schaefer would be nice, but we can't add a D with this pick.
Desnoyers too, but I don't know if he's a franchise player. Ryabkin has dropped a bit with his slow start, but he's still one of the most talented available this draft.

Eh I wouldn’t want Schaefer that badly, but if there is a drop off to B prospects than you take the last A prospect on the board. He would compliment Parekh so well. LD is brutal organizationally.

As for Desnoyer, he’s a 6’2+ physical, defensively strong C who can skate and score. A lot of people compare him to Sean Couturier, but with a mean streak. He’d be a huge add.

The highlighted is why I hope we target that in prospects this year if we are sellers. I would love to add someone like Tanner Molendyk (if Nashville ever turns it around) Good chance him and Parekh will be partners at World Juniors

It’s gonna be so funny when Conroy sells at the deadline and we torpedo down the standings

f*** BPA. For the Flames in this draft it's BCA.

draft a natural C or I'll lose my shit

Big fan of Hagens but conflicting feelings about drafting an American that high. Call it paranoia but this needs to be a franchise building block long term no questions asked type of player. If he was available then not much chance I would pass on him but almost would rather Misa or McQueen. Ryabkin and Frondell I really haven't watched a ton of yet but the bit I have has been promising. Ryabkin looks like the best Russian C prospect since Malkin.
