Prospect Info: 2025 Draft: We are #1….1

A "traditional rebuild" requires stripping it down to the core. That is not happening, no matter how much people want it.

The goal should be to avoid becoming the next Buffalo or Chicago.
It's not happening intentionally. Chicago, Detroit, San Jose also weren't intending to rebuild...until there was no choice left.

If you trade Kane, tell Toews it's been real, not qualify Strome and trade DeBrincat, that is 100% intentional. Plus, hiring Blashill just keeps the ping-pong balls rolling.

Detroit? Yzerman's plan was to sign a bunch of bad defensemen and then he started signing a bunch of bad centers to couple with his bad defensemen. Some rebuild.

San Jose? They are clearly in rebuild mode now. Trading a 100-point defenseman was a fairly obvious signal.

I don't understand your definition of intentional versus unintentional, sorry.

All three orgs. tried to avoid a full rebuild period of being bad for years. All three failed and then after multiple years of failure, realized there was no other option except to fully rebuild. That is the same trajectory Pens could end up following despite their intentions otherwise.

I don't know if this is true but apparently McQueen has decided not to do the bench press at the combine.

I have a feeling he will fall out of the top 10. Making our decision more difficult.

This team's already the Sabres, man. It's about to be eight years since they won a round, and they're likely about to miss the playoffs for the fourth straight year with the foreseeable future only looking worse.

Anyway, the issue with the Sabres is that they're run by complete f***ing morons from top to bottom. They could've had a roster with Eichel, Tage, Reinhart, Hagel, Cozens, Peterka, Dahlin, Power, and Ullmark. Mismanagement to a near intentional degree is what f***ed that team over, not that they're stuck in rebuild purgatory.

Yeah, I mean, upper body strength doesn't really mean a ton in hockey. Jake's built like a high school soccer player and he's an 80-90pt guy and 40g scorer. Sam Bennett famously couldn't do a single pull up at the combine and he's as tough and physical as you'll find in the playoffs.

Besides, all that can be worked on. These guys are gonna have a myriad of professionals at their disposal as far as strength and conditioning coaches go, professional chefs and dieticians, and the finest training facilities around.

Anyway, f*** McQueen. Dude's gonna be a bust. :naughty:

Malkin is built like a toothpick and he's one of the top 10 er... 25 that is... 100 players of um...

Well he's right about on the same level as Nikita Kucherov at least.

No? Well shit nevermind.

Why? Buffalo chased out Eichel and Rienhart. They would be a much better team with those two.

Chicago did the same with Strome and DeBrincat.

letting young players walk is not a traditional rebuild.
