so which swede are we taking?
Still want O’Brien.

Chytil isn't the answer.
If we manage to get a superstar top 10 winger in the league ,then he all of sudden may look like it , no?

I agree though, hopefully BPA is a Center. But more just saying I think Chytil can get by with a smart and skilled wingers

No I don't think so his processing skills just aren't there.

I was hugely disappointed in getting Chytil back to be honest but understood the corner Miller put the Canucks in partially.

the Canucks haven't drafted a legitimate top 6 center prospect since EP40 in 2017.

Looks as though even if the Canucks make the playoffs or just fall short, they're likely picking in the 14-21 range.

Must confess I try to follow the draft rankings that come out from Bob McKenzie and Craig Button on TSH; and Sam Consentino on Sportsbet-- but know next to nothing about the players in that range of the 2025 draft.

Any kids of interest in that range who might move the needle for the Canucks in a few seasons?

Most of the draft gurus are saying that this draft falls off quick around 12-13 so we’ll likely be drafting right after that. The picks around 14-20 profile like guys found around the end of the first round in most years so our scouts will need to really earn their money to find a good NHL player there.

Roger McQueen
Benjamin Kindel
Jake O’Brien
Ivan Ryabkin
Carter Bear
Brady Martin
Braeden Cootes

All centers (though Bear is more of a winger than a C). whoever is available when we pick, in that order is who I want. I personally would love Ryabkin.

Id like to age gap trade appropriately for once.

Is there a non entitled, Rutger or Cutter situation brewing out there?

A player behind a mountain of prospects who could see themselves just walking on to our pathetic depth chart?

Oliver Moore 2023 #19?
Jimmy Snuggerud 2022 #23?

Forget who Scott Young is scouting today who has he scouted already cause we need the injection now.

So many teams have traded alot of picks too so id be heavily looking to trade for their already drafted later round players too. Age gap the heck outta this draft.

Agree with this and would add Reschny to this group. There isn’t a winger at our projected pick that separates themselves from the upside on the available centres. We desperately need a C with top 6 upside in our pipeline. This draft actually has a strong C class in the first round.

I'm still all aboard the O'Brien train. Found this:

I'm pretty sure Kindel is playing wing, and even if he isn't, if he makes it as an NHLer I'm sure it will be as a winger. I like him as a pick, though.

From what I've read O'Brien should be gone by the time it rolls around to the Canucks' pick.
Very likely.

But would love for them to move up in a trade with someone who doesn't necessarily want another 8-12 pick if a team feels a drop off.

Someone like Anaheim or Columbus.
