Maybe Kam gets moved for a middle/late 1st. It was the prudent move imo. Mostly because I don't want to spend next season worrying that an injury to Shesty or Fox means missing out on a lottery pick and giving it to Shitsburgh.

Just be happy that your Friday night cleared up.

There’s no reason to think this is a bad move. There’s also no reason to trust Drury to come out of this net positive.

Absolutely a bad move, and zero reason to think Drury will come out of this net positive. Lebrun reporting apparently he only did this so he could have ammo to trade at the deadline if we are in the playoffs. Cool, another Copp type trade he will make to push us nowhere near the Cup.

I was never fully against Drury, but this is f***ing awful.

Awesome! Unless we were going to move up, there was no good reason to use this pick imo.

The difference between 12th and 20th OA is meh. The difference between 12th and 5th is huge.

Also basically confirms that we would rather not go all out as buyers this year, which I'm also on board with.
12-13 is where the cut off was, pretty much everyone reported that. We would have gotten a good player, and we'll get to see that first hand who is left on Friday at 12th.

Those "cutoffs" are basically never right though. We see it year in and year out. Players on the right side of the cutoff sometimes flounder, players on the wrong side sometimes flourish.

Obviously I'd rather 12OA than 20OA, but if we suck again or Shesty goes down to injury, we're likely looking at a top10 pick in a draft that's supposedly slightly better.

Not to mention the long shot of landing McKenna.

I mean the 2026 pick has more value than the 2025 pick, so I don’t see the problem here. Especially if the 2025 pick was being offered around and Drury didn’t like the value.

12-13 is generous. It’s really more like 8-9. If that. It’s Schafer and the centers. That’s it’s. And McQueen is a coin flip for obvious reasons

Buzzkill, however. It’s nothing new for Rangers fans. We have been in this position watching others draft players we talked an out for a year for those trade deadline acquisitions for decades.

I'm disappointed simply because its fun watching your team make a first round pick. Who knows, maybe they have a deal for KAM that gets them a 1st... or something worked out sending Pan out...
Personally I see us making the playoffs if we don't subtract from this lineup without getting a reasonable replacement. But as others have said here we are just some bad luck or a Shesty injury from a lottery shot at McKenna... giving Pitt that shot would have been a disaster waiting to happen. Who knows? Watch Hagens fall to 12th. Hahahahahaha.
