NHL Entry Draft: 2025 Draft Pick Watch

I got an idea, Chris!

Next time, pull out the seer from her bog in the Great Swamp, have her throw bones on the interview table and read the kids future.

This reads exactly like some inept asshole got into a position of great power, so it checks out hard for me.
Honestly, it sounds like someone ask chatGPT what a good question or activity would be to test some arbitrary mental skill that chatGPT also told them was important for the success of NHL athletes.

Nashville literally had players try to balance golf balls on one another.

Montreal asked players what kind of animal they compare to off the ice.

There is a reason teams do this shit and in the grand scheme of things its not that important. This isn't exclusive to the Rangers.

everything i’m seeing def screams that Martin is a riser. This type of shit happens every year around this time, when the interviewing process starts guys start to rise and drop. And Martin is like the stereotype of a late riser, especially in a draft this barren. Maybe these other guys have a bit better of a ceiling, but I think the gap is small enough to where a team liking Martin in interviews gives him an edge
Yup. Said it two weeks ago. Martin is a big time riser and it would not shock me to see him go top 5.

Looks like we've identified a few more chat GPT franchises then.
In all seriousness, I think these types of tests are more about how players react than the actual tests themselves.
Like if someone is like "no, I'm not doing this horse shit" ok, red flag. Thank you and good luck.
Or if they get really frustrated and quit. Or really frustrated and angry.
Looking back at Lias throwing his silver medal, it's wild how the franchise tried to spin his competitiveness. That's something I can see these types of tests aiming to unearth.

Cam Reid is growing on me but that’s just not the type of player we draft

If we can acquire a second mid-first, i'd definitely use that on him. 12 i think would be too high, but I also dont even think we should be picking there.
