The eastern conference stinks. The Rangers nearly made the playoffs this season and they stunk.

True but I see the Canadians, senators, and bluejackets pass us next season. The teams that are better than us before are still better than us. Nobody can give anyone a clear plan to actually get better. Our defense is fox and a bunch of #5s.. we are just not a good team. Locker room cancers from preventing an actual culture and system change.. just so many negatives to this franchise right now, I don’t see us making the playoffs.

The thing with Drury now is he can't stay where he is and he can't go backwards. He can only go forward. I don't think he'll have a chance to hire another coach if he can't get at least 3 years out of Sullivan and whether or not this could be Sullivan's last job I expect he'll see that as a real possibility.

I don't know if we'll make the playoffs next year or not. If I were to guess I'd say yes. I think Drury will pull out all stops to make it happen. Will we be a for real contender? I don't think so. Partly the reason he will look to move some of these guys is about reallocating money to make the team more competitive. There's no point not using cap space when you already know the cap is going to significantly rise each and every year for the next 3 years. If he moves Kreider, Zibanejad, Panarin, Lafreniere he'll try to spend cap savings from that on others to replace them. You can't have just a team of ELC and second and third contracts......every team is going to need some very large contracts just to keep in contact with the cap floor.

Right but the free agents this year are trash. The defensive free agents that we all want in gavrikov is going to be resigned by the kings. All the actual movement and player change will have to come via trades. Which means moving the guys you said plus Key. I get what you are saying with this crazy mandate but in order for this franchise to take steps forward, it has to take a step back.

KAM has shown to be a solid next to Fox and with some coaching / development could get better. We need a strong #2D to anchor the second unit and again we’d be hoping that Schneider is that #4 once he recovers from injury but I’m not sure I see it. He needs to skate the puck more and be more physical but both offensively and defensively he’s lacking the qualities of a strong #4.
Borgen slots in nicely as #5 but still need another addition for the bottom pair plus a capable #7

KAM while he has the tools has no tool box. He literally has rocks for brains, does not understand fundamental defense or outlet pass. He will never be anything more than a 4. We just like him bc he is big and can skate. Other than that, he doesn’t take the body, has constant gaffes in the game, constant turnovers in his own zone… I just don’t see it with him. Move him while people are still enamored with his size and speed.

As part of the 2021 lottery rule changes, the NHL also decreed that a team cannot win the lottery more than twice in a five-year span (starting with the 2022 lottery).

The Sharks won the lottery last year, so if they do it again this year, they will be ineligible to do so until 2029.
1) LOL, I didn't realize they made a rule for us.
2) That's ass that being last place and getting the 1st pick constitutes as "winning" the lottery. So if are last twice like the Sharks, that counts as winning and you can't be like 10th next year and "win" again. Maybe it's fair but it sounds ass on initial reading. Winning should be actually moving spots.

The conspiracy theorists have a real good shot at hitting gold tonight given PIT/NYR/BOS can all win. The statistical odds of one of those hitting is like 16%
