2025 DRAFT Discussion

Bob's rankings got me feeling good. Discounting a lottery win (haha....HAHAHAHA), I like the odds of being able to grab one of Smith, Eklund, Bear, or Aitcheson. Might not be too bad despite the slim pickings.

I can’t see much that I disagree with other than Cullen Potter and Radim Mrtka being ranked so high.

Anaheim, NYI and NYR are teams I can imagine taking Brady Martin. Maybe even Buffalo because Martin is super physical and Buffalo is one team that has failed the punk test even more than Detroit.

I’d probably be aggressive and give up a 3rd to go from 44 to 34 if possible to grab a Wozniak if he’s still there (probably won’t )

Might be inclined for Filip ekerg if we don’t want to risk him not being there in the 3rd. He’s another guy I’d trade up in early 3rd if he’s still there. Heard s podcast where apparently he was sick during the season and didn’t go to the gym with his teammates. Might explain his meh ohl season. I’d take a chance on him, seems there’s upside there

The current rankings barely have any dmen going in the top 10, if any at all. In a yearz where the forwards aren't very highly thought of, I think guys like Smith and Mrtka will go even higher than you think. Aitcheson as well to a lesser extent. It happens like this a lot of years for whatever reason people don't catch on. Smith has a set of tools teams will love, if he gets to Detroit I'm all for it.


Bob Mckenzies new rankings have McQueen, Eklund, Smith, Mrtka, Martin, Bear, Aitcheson ranked 8-14 in that order. Martin is specifically ranked 12. If Detroit comes away with any of them, I'm pretty happy with this draft to be honest. Mrtka is the only one who doesn't really fill a "need"

The idea of Martin has grown on me. Since we are never drafting high enough to get the flashy, sure-fire first line center types, I am all in favor of building a team that is just ridiculously hard to play against. Him, Kasper, Danielson, and MBN, with Seider and Edvinsson, seems like a fantastic start to doing so.

Brady martin just got his 2nd goal. Thx to those pointless wins at the end I think hes a goner by 12 for sure now with the tournament he's had
