Fun discussion about Martin. He’s not a pretty skater but his speed is pretty good. He might be better as a crash and bang winger than a center.

There seems to be a pretty wide range of opinions on him. But he was a PPG player for Canada at the Hlinka and the U18s last year. Been pretty productive in the OHL the last 2 years as well.

Here are some highlights, for anyone interested:

Every time I’ve seen Spence footage I get the same feeling I got with Barlow; physically mature, high athleticism, subpar brains.

Some of the shift by shifts I’ve seen him just float and not engage.

Late 1st or a 2nd pick, probably a 3rd or 4th line winger. Not on my do not draft but definitely not a favorite.

Seems like a good fit for what we're after: physical play, advanced 200ft game, I was also impressed with his assist totals, 84 over the past two seasons. From Pronman:

Exactly. Feels like a Givani Smith type of player all over again. At least Givani went in the second round.

I really like this kid. I’m worried he won’t be there at 12 though. There’s a chance he sneaks into the top 10.

Ranges of player for him? Anything from OT Benny to Phaneuf if he makes it. Not high level IQ but he’s a hammer out there and will make opponents miserable and stand up for teammates.

I will not be complaining if we pick Martin, but he's right handed and we already have Raymond and MBN for our top 6 RW position.

ASP partner? Only thing, they should not rush him,2-3 years at least

He looks really good. Some have him number 2 LD in the entire draft.

Seider plays well with a shooting partner so this might be ideal for him.

Like I said, I’m not expecting Lidstrom level high-IQ defense, but he’s gonna have people playing with their heads up. He’s going to be a fun but chaotic player to watch.

That’s a lot of imagining danielson 1c? Let’s hope he can be 2c first .... you always draft the best player available but with the likes of buchelnikov finnie kiiskinen plante becher not even on your list I’d say there’s a good chance we draft a Dman

After asp what do we have? Wallinder,buium,johansson,Cleveland,tuomisto ... probably missing someone but all likely 3rd pairing guys ... I’d say there’s a good chance it’s a Dman at 12 if we keep the pick

And a lot more realistic than O'Brien, who might not make it past 6 or 7. Heck Aitcheson could easily be gone as well. Though if he is, hopefully that means Eklund is around.

If we get operation trey get off your ass and get howard here and basically force him to detroit for a 2nd + we leave the draft with potentially a top 4 dman and howard

I’m starting to like William Belle with our third or fourth pick. He looks like a big shit disturber. Not sure how much offense he will bring so maybe that’s a round too early. I don’t like to miss out on Mace’o Phillips with the next pick so that’s why I take him early.

my only question too , if he can deal with nhl physicality im sold on his offensive talents . and really like the extra reach on a player with good wheels , enables him to both maintain control of puck plus steal pucks / defuse opponant passes .

Sole do you guys are selling me on nesbitt, although I do feel 12 would be too high for him.

I think 12 would be too high for him as of right now but I'm interested to see what the thoughts are on him after the OHL playoffs and potentially mem cup are done. I think he's been a riser, and a big playoff could see him ranked around where the wings are picking.

Its hard to pass on a 6'4 Canadian that fights for a lot of NHL teams, especially when he brings a lot of other aspects to the game
