I've done that exercise before and it's hard to prove because...it's the internet...but yes, most of the time I was just as wrong as Detroit, but I've been right probably just as often as they have.
I wanted Necas in 2017, but was also OK taking Liljegren or Vilardi. 2/3 of those would have been a way better pick. Here's a link proving that:

Those are some examples I can find evidence of on these boards. Way back in the day I wanted Kucherov as well but don't think I posted about that here. Anyway, I was also wrong all the time - I wanted Kirby Dach in 2019 - but my point is that if I can have so many "hits" as a random dude on an internet forum who basically just reads scouting reports and watches highlights and formulates a "vibe" on these players... it's kind of sad that NHL teams can't do 1000x better than me.
