BARRYS MARCH 2025 Draft Rankings

Top Tier

1A-Misa
1B-Schaefer
3-Hagens
4-Martone

Misa and Schaefer are very close. Misa production wise fits the bill at a 1OA but something about when i watch him seems off. Dosnt wow me with a particular attribute and a lot of his points just seem to go..in? whether it’s luck or incredible iq for that to happen, being said can’t ignoring him producing. Schaefer has all the attributes to be a franchise d-man. lack of games this year and only recent elite play keeps him at 2

2nd Tier

5-Eklund
6-Frondell
7-Desoyners
8-Kindel
9-Obrien

Love all these guy. Eklund narrowly edges out Frondell. His motor and play driving is a big part of Frondells surge the past while.
789 are all close depending on what you value.

O’brien
elite play making with some size
Desoyners
great 2way ability while still being the productive
Kindel
All what i said about misa is the opposite. He makes everything look pretty. Stud and a treat to watch. man crush of the draft but i’m a sucker for the smaller uber skilled players (catton perrault cristall) ect..

3rd Tier
10-Bear
11-Mrtka
12-Smith
13-Reschney
14-Lakovic
15-Mcqueen
16-Martin
17-Carbonneau

4th Tier
18-Hensler
19-Spence
20-Reid
21-Aitcheson
22-Cootes
23-Shmidt
24-Ryabkin
25-Ravensbergen

That’s not terrible. It just bugs me that the tier 3 and tier 4 guys all appear to be the kind of quality you expect of guys 26-46 in the draft in an average year. Bear would be early to mid teens most years, and McQueen would typically be an 8-12 guy because his size. The rest of those groups is underwhelming.

Looks like the way we are going I may have a shot at my two mancrush’s in Carbonneau and Martin.

We need a sniper like nobody's business.
We need forwards that don't suck, especially centers.
We need defensemen that don't suck.
We need pretty much everything unfortunately.

We have Larkin, Raymond, Mo, Ed, and Debrincat to build around.

I expect to be disappointed by the draft this year.

kindel pleaseeee get some f***ing skill for once
Barry, I think that is misrepresenting Kindel. I don't see him as having high-end skill. He just produces a shit ton. I can't think of one truly elite physical trait he has. He is the classic sum of the parts prospect. He just has very good offensive IQ (and cheats D a little).

I like him a lot, but probably wouldn't take him where we are drafting.

Lakovic is a pretty interesting player to me. Should be there at our pick but he does seem to be rising up draft boards. I honestly think we are pretty set at Center between kasper, Danielson and Lombardi, not to mention sleepers like finnie.

I’d either take a big power forward type player like lakovic and carbonneu or a tough to play against LD like aitcheson than another center.

I've started to watch some video and do some research, still have a lot to go but this Jake O'Brien kid has my attention, and may be available when we pick.

Because he's a skilled center, I could see him creep his way into the top 10 though, so we may not even get a chance at him, unless the team keeps plummeting.

Sign me up for one of Lakovic, Carbonneau, or Aitcheson.

Also could see them running the card for Mrtka up if he somehow falls to us.

If you look at our remaining schedule (by far the toughest in the league), I think picking 8-10 is looking a lot likelier. In which case ... Jake O'Brien might be my pick. Eklund could still be there too.
I like O'Brien too. I know we have Danielson and Kasper as young centers already, but I think O'Brien is far more skilled than both and has a much higher ceiling

You literally cannot draft enough centers in my opinion. The market puts such a premium on them. Obrien is likely to be on my list come draft day. I hope his frame allows him to add more mass because the kid is super skinny.

For some reason I totally missed HP put out an updated ranking: 2025 NHL Draft Ranking - HockeyProspect.com

I think I would be fine with taking anyone they have ranked between 8 and 14, although not entirely sold on Brady Martin yet.

But I found it interesting how high they had Bear, Martin, and Mrtka ranked. I could see Detroit also being high on those guys.

Pronman did a new list today and basically said the draft class is improving especially at the top, and he now has 10 players listed as "top of the lineup" including O'Brien.

I say that not to say Pronman is amazing, but he's usually really tied into the scouting world.

If we're top 10, I think we'll get a very good player, and like I said earlier, I'd love for it to be O'Brien. Get all the centers and figure it out later.

Something tells me that industry types are higher on Martin than most fans.

Just when I maybe start to revise my thinking a bit and like Aitcheson he has to rank him at nine. I don’t think we will end up that low to get him there
