NHL 2025 DRAFT - Bruins pick 7th

If Desnoyers is available at 7 and Habs want him baddly do you take 2025 Habs picks no. 16 & 17 + Mailloux? Nesbit, Lakovic, Carbonneau, Aeitcheson, Bear, even Martin could be there + Mailloux big nasty offensive D...Thoughts?
I would yes . They could set us up with a incredible package. If we traded with the leafs and cats whynot habs. I hate the leafs more btw.

Ok so going through now some players and reviews and videos of guys for the first 3 rounds. Tough one some may seem like reaches or won’t be there by the time we pick but really the scout rankings are all over the place. I used the average of all the major rankings to hone in on players to look at for the picks we have. First go through I am sure this will change as we get closer to draft.

7th Frondell/Eklund/Desnoyers
51st Czata/Epperson/Nestrasil
61st L.J. Mooney/Kettles/Romano
69th Psenicka/Rombach/Horcoff

Later round quick looks
Alexandre Carbonneau
Jackson Crowder

Do you trust Sweeney, with multiple picks in the first round in the teens, to do the right thing?

Not even June and I’m already bored. If JOB, Eklund, and Martin are available at #7, I’m open to the three following trades:

1.
Buffalo Receives: 7OA, Poitras, Peeke, 69OA

Boston Receves: 9OA, JJ Peterka, 39OA

2.
Seattle Receives: 7OA, 2026 1st (Toronto) Mittelstadt (1.5 retained), Poitras, Peeke, 69OA

Boston Recieves: 8OA, Berniers, 38OA

3.
Anaheim Receives: 7OA, 2026 1st (Toronto), 2025 4th, Mittelstadt (1.5 retained) Poitras, Peeke

Boston Recieves: 10A, McTavish, Helleson, 62OA

- Options 1 and 3 give you a long term first or second line center right now, and still let you draft someone of value. Option 2 with Peterka might give the ability to shift towards someone like Tavares or Bennet in free agency.
- Theoretically, you could also try trade #2 with Seattle, and then run another trade with Anaheim for McTavish, but centered around any of 8OA and Zacha/Lohrei/Minten. Getting Berniers and McTavish in the same summer would be just silly.
- if someone goes for Mrtka or Jackson Smith, you get an even better player at the pick you trade back to

I don't think there's a chance in hell that any one of those teams would make those deals with Boston.

I’ll disagree. I think there are quite a few teams around that would really like the combo. Mittelstadt at 4.25mil (2 years left, no protections), Poitras, a 2026 1st, and moving up in the draft is nothing to sneeze at. Anaheim and Seattle have prospects like Leo and Wright already surpassing Berniers and McTavish, with other good centers like Stephenson and Zegras, and prospects moving up still. McTavish and Peterka could likely already be had for a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd via OS.

Mittelstadt at 4.25 or less makes teams look at the Bruins as trade partners if they want a reasonably priced middle 6 center.

Are you talking about this guy?

You want us to take on their headache and give our 7th round pick for the privilege? Did we learn nothing from the Mitchell Miller scandal?

Could be UTA, could be PHI, or someone like BUF trading up to 6 to take one of them.

But the last 5 drafts have each had either 2 or 3 D taken in the 1st 7 picks, a few of those picks being fairly surprising.

Seider was considered a reach.
Sanderson was considered a reach.
Reinbacher was a bit of a reach, Simashev a bigger one.
Yakemchuk was a reach, and Chicago taking Levhusnov instead of Demidov was definitely overvaluing RD instead of BPA.

Not worried. It’s an older vid. He picked his game up as the season went on. I mean at his age and what he is producing in that league is best ever points percentage and there are some good players like Forsberg and Pasta that produced less. Hes one of the youngest in the draft already playing a pro game against men. Hes going to jump next season to the NHL no doubt. He has the size and strength.

Frondell is not a complete player by any means, but he will be the best goal scorer in this draft. Not most points. Goals. His shot is the best by far. I think he also ends up on the wing too. As he likes to chip and chase and he will throw the body. Him and Eklund were always first on the puck on the forecheck.

Still don’t think he ends up at 7. My guess Chicago grabs him

I didn't realize the clip was that old. Stupid YouTube algorithm.
Yeah the Christmas Tree was a dead giveaway that either it was an old clip OR the guy was too lazy to take down his tree several months after the Holidays LOL.
YouTube is tricky because they don't time stamp when posts (or whatever they're called) appear on it for the first time.
There are people who pirate others video's and ask for donations.
There are also people who produce video's and then a significant time later re-post it as new.

Hagens
Frondell
Desnoyers
O’Brien
Eklund
Martone
Martin

Give me any of these players and I’m very happy on draft day. Obviously the two at the top will not be there at 7. Only takes a weird pick — Mrtka/Smith for example — going earlier than projected and things get really interesting.

Realistically hoping for O’Brien/Martin. Would love Frondell/Desnoyers/Hagens. June 27 can’t come soon enough!

I wish Eklund was a center. He is a demon of a prospect. Wouldn’t be mad with either winger but feel Boston needs that #1 potential center prospect.
