NHL 2025 DRAFT - Bruins pick 7th

I'll take the next scott Stevens to any type high scoring forward. I doubt there will ever be one. That man won cups with just his presence on the ice.
No kidding there will never be another one. Today’s NHL would see him in jail after the first hit. Somewhere, the concept of “keep your head up” turned into “make sure the guy knows you’re going to hit him before you hit him”.

Sad thing is your not wrong. Tom Wilson actually yells heads up during the regular season before he throws a hit.

I like him too, saw him only once live this year but solid kid, no way would I take him at #7 but..
He was my guy before the Bruins dropped ten in a row and fell from like 11th to 5th last. I didn’t think we’d be picking in the top ten.

Not at 7, no. But I think he’s going to go a lot later than he should due to being the only player on a team stripped right down to the frame.

What are your thoughts on Jackson Smith?

Going by his highlights and scouting reports he seems like he should be a top 5 pick. Great skater, really good size, good offensively and defensively. Only thing bad I've read is that he needs to cut down on turnovers when under pressure. Am I missing something?
Man I wish I could tell ya. Never had the chance to see him live, but his video is very impressive. :dunno:

If that's how you view than I suppose that makes sense. I think JOB, Eklund and Jackson Smith have more potential to be a homerun pick then McQueen tho. I challenge anyone to find a player who put up numbers as low as McQueen did as a 17 year old(51pts in 53 games) and went on to become a top 6 forward in the NHL.
Quentin byfield had 61 in 64 in his -1 season. Played a full year and put up over 80 points in his draft year though, got taken 2nd overall. Maybe people think if mcqueen had a healthy year he could have exploded. Not sure. Thats where the massive risk comes in. But his size with his raw skills to me makes him have the highest potential (mostly due to the fact hes 3-7 inches taller than everyone else in the range)

I really think the bruins should take a dman. Mcavoy isnt a true elite defensemen, they need to keep working on improving the backend. Mrtka or smith to me could be good

helluva D man, Royals knocked out Tri City in the playoffs and he was, by a mile, the most noticeable player on the Americans. Smooth, big body, moves the puck well. If the B`s weren`t picking 7 but rather say 10/15 range, he`d be a solid pick

But the thing is McQueen already had his 17 year old season which is how old Byfield was when he put up 82pts in 45 games. Again, McQueen had 51pts in 53 games. He had 14pts in 55 games his first year in the WHL. If he was born 3 weeks earlier he would've been drafted last year and probably not anywhere near the top 10. Even as an 18 year old McQueen wasn't on anywhere near the pace Byfield was a 17 year old and Byfield was already playing pro as an 18 year old.

I liked this a lot.

Then I saw how low Lakovic was. One of the few I’ve seen here live and he was the second most impressive player from the Dub that I watched all season. Whoever gets him is going to get a steal.
Random late night thought that the name Lakovic made me think about, Mo Lukowich for absolutely no reason.
Played for the B's for 2 seasons in the '80s/
