NHL 2025 DRAFT - Bruins pick 7th

There are countless examples of guys scoring in droves in the O and going on to doing nothing in the nhl.

Martin likely will be an NHLer by comparison, but I’m still not convinced he’s the guy at 7
More than likely the BPA at 7 will be O'Brien, and if he is passed up for "typical Bruin" Brady Martin I won't be thrilled. Take the guy with the perceived higher offensive upside with the better shot to be a top 6 NHL'er IMO. For me it would be between Eklund and JOB, Rome wasn't built in a day so I am not taking a center to just take a center.

Strong feeling Philly can choose from Desnoyers, O’Brien, or Martin at #6. Bruins should prioritize those players in that order, and Eklund after. Pretty sure Philly goes with Desnoyers, but Martin could also intrigue them, JOB not so much. In the chance Frondell falls, go him over JOB.

Still dreaming of Desnoyers or Frondell. Similar to Eklund and O’Brien I flip daily.

With that said even if we get one of the top 6 who fall I am still going to be wondering if we got the wrong one until they show up in Boston and earn a role. Love this part of sports including the anxiety of getting the wrong guy sometimes. If it were all Pasta’s and McAvoys it would be a lot less fun.

Sure I could take a few less, Hamill, Colborne’s and Senyshyn’s but ultimately I think we are just due for a surprise star at some point soon. Its been a while.

it would be interesting to see what the consensus was on Pasta when he was drafted, honestly can`t remember

Two spots behind Josh Ho-Sang.

Oddly, Pronman had him ranked the highest at #16. Bob's poll had him at #22.

Did you know that Florida's mascot is named Viktor E. Ratt?

The Bruins draft Victor E (klund)., then bring back The Rat" Brad Marchand, and together they bring a Bruins victor....y over the vile Florida Panthers. So say the hockey gods.

I'll show myself out.

You are spot on....remember Jack Studicka? He scored 36 goals in his last 60 GP in the O.....we all now how good he turned out.
I'm not sure if you're comparing him to Martin but Studnicka did that as a 19 year old while Martin scored 33 in 57 games as a 17 year old so not comparable at all. People around here really seem to struggle with grasping how much harder it is for a 17 year old to score over 30 goals compared to a 19 year old. Studnicka had 18 goals in 64 games at Martin's age. There's players I like better at 7th overall than Martin but the amount of people who shit on him here despite never seeing him play is hilarious. (Not necessarily saying you fall into that category tho)

I will give you a better example, Robby Fabbri at the same age had 45 goals and 42 assists in 58 games.
He did this as a 17 YO/ during his draft year.
I think the point we are trying to make is that points ( no pun intended) and goals are not everything you need to look at in a potential pick.
Central Scouting has him ranked 11th for North American players.
Bob Mckenzie at 13th.
Why reach for him?
Martin might work out to be a good NHL player, but I keep getting Zach S vibes when I see that Soo Greyhound jersey.

I agree with your general point but Martin does everything else very well so idk what there's not to like. Fabbri's also not a good example as he had his career derailed by serious injuries but I'm sure there are good examples out there. I'd rather they pick Eklund or O'Brien because I think they have higher potential offensively but I'll be fine with Martin if he's the pick. He's nothing like Senyshyn at all. I believe Dom doesn't think he's a reach and I put more stock into his opinion than Mackenzie's or Central Scouting.

As someone who grew up in a farming community and worked on farms, I can assure y'all that farm strength is merely a myth. I can think of countless examples of farm boys who were no stronger than the townies. Especially true now that most family farms don't even have cattle to feed.
