NHL 2025 DRAFT - Bruins pick 7th

Yeah the Gabe Vilardi comparison isn’t overly optimistic. Seven years after he was drafted, he finally had his first 60 point season.

I’m with the majority here. McQueen may be an interesting player, but no way on God’s Green Hell do I take him at 7OA.
I would not touch McQueen.

Martin, Eklund, *Martone,* Deysnoyers, Hagens, O'Brian, etc.

Again, you never know who might be available.

Yeah, didn’t somebody say his spine is the issue? Pretty important part of the body. Important enough that Buffalo split ways with their franchise center over how his was going to be surgically treated.

Sucks for the kid, but I’d probably pass on him until the 2nd round, and that’s only because we have two picks there.

If the story was, “this guy absolutely is a better player than all the above at 7”, then that’s a different story. Parity, too close to call or not enough games played to know?…forget it!

It is unfortunate for the player. But I would certainly stay away in the first round. If he is still available in the second, maybe you take a chance.

What the F? We have half the board “hoping we don’t pick this high again for a long time”, like this team is a quick fix, and one #7 makes us a contender. Then you have guys suggesting trade down. If this franchise doesn’t know how to pick a better player at #7 than #13, then that’s a shame and we should fire the whole scouting department.
I have more faith in the Bruins scouting department to find NHL players in the 2nd round then I do the Players drafted in the 1st round.

Hello 2015
Jack Nesbitt , 6'4" 184 pound C from the OHL Windsor Spitfires is another option for the Bruins after the first round. Big strong kid. I believe he had 84 points. Plays power play and PK. 2 shorties this season. Not sure Sweeney will stick to the CHL.
myNHLdraft.com has Nesbitt being drafted 1st round 16th OVA

How long has Dennis Bonvie been in a head scouting position?

How long has Scott Bradley been with the scouting department and in other organizational positions?

" Since 1993."

What does this tell you?

BPA all day. No trading down. No trading up. You need one stud and”multiple prospects” not only this year but also next. FA class is extremely top heavy. Chances are that Bruins don’t get a “prize” in free agency and that next year is a chase for the playoffs. That means at least another top 12 pick. They had a great run. The hope should be that over the next two drafts they fill the cupboard with talent while competing all year to make the playoffs. BPA every round. Wingers/Def/Centers. The team needs NEW talent everywhere.
Bruins are in dire need of improving their prospect pool. One of the worse in the league. Not a time to piss around with draft picks. Take the BPA in the first and thr best players available in the 2nd. If the scouts are up to snuff there will be some decent prospects to be had .

I love Victor Eklund and I'd be thrilled if the Bruins got him. Hoping for him or one of the top 6 to drop.
I have a hard time getting excited for him due to Lysell-PTSD.

Martin the the best pick at 7 --if he's still on the board. Tom Wilson had 9 goals in his draft year (33 this year in NHL). OHL level grit translates to NHL very well with a skill base.

Martone desnoyers frondell ecklund o brian are all gonna be solid players. Get one of them.
It's a guarantee that 2 of them will be there at 7. Maybe three of them if Martin goes in the top six. I would be ecstatic with any one of them. Another wild card is what if one of these teams decides they want the best defenseman available outside of Schaeffer. They really shouldn't be able to screw this up
