Our dee is instantly upgraded.
We have 3 number one picks in 2026 which will be a much deeper draft vs this year.

Isles get a shot at Hagens at 7 to go with Schaefer.

I don’t think barzal plsts centre. Pretty sure they use him on the wing. I could be wrong. He is also injury prone.

If Martin's highlight reel wasn't him running around trying to hit people, would you be as excited? Because the rest of the skill isn't there compared to the other players in the top 10.

I'll stand by it: Martin goes before Frondell and it will be the right decision.

Why would any team give up a guy in his twenties who is a top line player ,for a pick who might or might not be a top line forward,eventually.

I said it would be part of a package deal. No.7 on it's own won't get you that elite forward.

Eklund is a gamer. But if you go with a wing, how and when do we get a true 1c or even a really good 2c for that matter? I’d bet we aren’t drafting this low for quite a while, and Poitras is the only one in the pipeline that looks like a possible okay 2c. Centers are also more expensive typically than wing, and top wingers get moved quite a bit more. Just seems like a missed opportunity if Desnoyers, OBrien, Hagens etc are on the board.

*not guaranteed any of these guys turn into top 6, but same goes for Eklund. We just think they will

I don't care about getting a top line center at this juncture and Bruins have far too many centers now. Some of who they have now will be pushed to the wing.

I just want them to get a forward who is the clear-cut 2nd best forward on this team after Pastrnak. Wing or center to me does not matter. In the offensive zone position no longer matters.

Martin is an impact player on the Soo Greyhounds. He was the first year and a leader the 2nd. Never takes a shift off and has some grit. He will a a solid player for some team after draft day.

If the Islanders are offering Barzal... I'm torn.

Barzal is a natural center. I know he hasn't played there recently but he's a legit point per game, play driving center. We also don't have to wait 2, 3, 4 years for the pick to be ready... and it takes the risk out of it, we're not hoping we get a Barzal, we actually get Barzal. We'd also be taking advantage of Pasta's prime. Geekie-Barzal-Pastnrak could be spectacular.

On the other hand, we'd be losing those 3-5 years of a low cap hit. We'd be losing out on the possibility that the guy we get is better than Barzal. We'd be losing out on the chance to groom our own home grown #1 center. In 5 years Barzal's contract will be up, he'll be 32, but the 7th overall will just be hitting his stride and we'll have to watch him for another 10 years.

Tough call for me.
