We are the next great power coupleYou know shit is getting weird when you and I are agreeing this much.
It's a Marchand Bourque trade discussion. Is it a draft discussion or a playoffs and marchand bourque trade discussions ? I’m confused
Hagens is a New York boy and grew up aI assume this is all about a play for the Islanders to get Hagens likely with the Bruin pick
I Like Desnoyers and seen him play a lot here in Moncton, but I would really like Eklund and the more highlights of O"Brien, the more I like him.The Isles get the #4 off of Utah and draft hometown boy Hagens.
Then I think Nashville and Philly take Frondell and Martin, just not sure which order.
Bruins pick from Desnoyers, McQueen, Eklund and O'Brien.
If the Bruins move off that pick it had better be a heck of a forward coming back, maybe a package deal. A guy in his 20s who is stepping right into the line-up as the unquestioned best forward behind Pastrnak. Not some mid-range Top 6 guy but a 1st line player.

Why would any team give up a guy in his twenties who is a top line player ,for a pick who might or might not be a top line forward, eventually. The Isles get the #4 off of Utah and draft hometown boy Hagens.

Eklund is a gamer. But if you go with a wing, how and when do we get a true 1c or even a really good 2c for that matter? I’d bet we aren’t drafting this low for quite a while, and Poitras is the only one in the pipeline that looks like a possible okay 2c. Centers are also more expensive typically than wing, and top wingers get moved quite a bit more. Just seems like a missed opportunity if Desnoyers, OBrien, Hagens etc are on the board.I like Eklund for the Bruins over these other two. I like his play driving, I like his shot, I like his compete even though he's not the biggest guy. Gets compared to Seth Jarvis a lot and if that is what he became that's a solid outcome for the Bruins at No. 7.
While I still say take the best player, do the Bruins have similar qualities to O'Brien in Poitras? Do the Bruins have similar qualities to Desnoyers in Minten?

Agree, always take the BPA, Eklund would look great at 2RW behind Pasta, as for O'Brien, I think he ends up being quite a bit better than Poitras. I would move guys like Poitras, Lohrei and Lysell either for 1st or 2nd rd picks or in a deal to improve the roster, just not for a guy like Pajeau, I would only take him for Mittlestadt and even then, I would want the Isles adding.I like Eklund for the Bruins over these other two. One takeaway for me watching Florida is you need a wide variety of skill-sets and player-types and not to load up with too many players who are similar.
How does moving Poitras and Lohrei for picks help this team at all? People keep tossing them into trades and I really don’t understand it at all.Agree, always take the BPA, Eklund would look great at 2RW behind Pasta, as for O'Brien, I think he ends up being quite a bit better than Poitras. I would move Lohrei for help up front and then fill in his spot with a UFA, as for Poitras, he still is seen as having potential, but something just tells me he never comes close to a real top 6 player,so move him while you can for another 1st or player of similar age. If you could convince Buffalo to deal Peterka for Poitras + or for Lohrei, would you make that deal? How does moving Poitras and Lohrei for picks help this team at all? Trading them for picks will never make sense because you’re hoping the picks you’ll get for them turn into the players you traded. Only make sense to sweeten deals for much better playersHow does moving Poitras and Lohrei for picks help this team at all? Got you. Thanks.I think its that the isles would get the 7th IF hagens was available. would they trade dobson for the 7
It’s why I’m bummed that they aren’t doing the all teams present and live during the draft this year. It’s Murphy, so I usually start laughing before finishing the headline. No different here.
If the Isles think Hagens slip that far, I’d let them take our 7 if we can somehow 3 way with Verbeek and end up with McTavish and #10. Between Zegras, Dobson, Barzal,Pageau Mittelstadt, our 1sts, Poitras, maybe there is something there if you’re creative (read:crazy) and convincing.
Poitras looks like he may be a career AHL player. Does he really have the potential to make the Bruin's roster on a long term basis?I would move Lohrei for help up front and then fill in his spot with a UFA, as for Poitras, he still is seen as having potential, but something just tells me he never comes close to a real top 6 player,so move him while you can for another 1st or player of similar age. IMO, Pageau is a 3rd-line center. Say what? He was a half a PPG as a 19 year old. He turned 21 in March. Career AHLer?!?Poitras looks like he may be a career AHL player. Does he really have the potential to make the Bruin's roster on a long term basis?
I don't think ANA deals McTavish for #7 straight up. Never mind adding a 1st to it.That would be incredible if they were able to recoup assets to help the roster next year (McTavish/Dobson) and move down slightly to still draft a solid prospect whether it be a C or W.
I don’t hate that at all. Even if it means moving out a Mittlestadt or Poitras as well.
No they definitely don’t.I don't think ANA deals McTavish for #7 straight up. Never mind adding a 1st to it.
I hope Poitras makes the Bruins roster sometime. The question was does he have the potential to grab a permanent spot on the Bruins roster?Say what? He was a half a PPG as a 19 year old. He turned 21 in March. Career AHLer?!?
