NHL 2025 DRAFT - Bruins pick 7th III

If they want a very solid #2 center, then he's the one they should select. That would set them at the 1-2 center positions for 15 years.

If they want a great winger, then Martone should be the selection.

This is such fun!
It really is

In 2 weeks from today the UFA insanity is going to start

Living here with the chaos and ups and downs and drama of our 4 major sports teams is so much fun

I’m enjoying the Bruins off season while watching to see just what the devil gave Brad Marchand in return for his soul

I think Chicago goes with Martone.

World Championship appearance boosted his stock, Almost a 2024 draftee he can step right into the Hawks line-up, bigger body and gives Bedard a running buddy sooner rather than later.
Yeah they need a skill bigger guy that’s more of a playmaker that could feed Bedard

Eklund, 18, had 19 goals and 31 points in 42 games with Djurgardens in Sweden’s HockeyAllsvenskan. He also suited up for his country at the World Juniors, scoring two goals with six points in seven games as Sweden finished in fourth place.

“Victor revs at high RPMs,” said Button. “His motor is unbelievable. He just has this unbelievable will to find a way to be a difference-maker.

In my opinion the draft takes on a different tone after the top six players on my list have been selected. After Matthew Schaefer at No. 1, I’m not sure in what order the next five prospects will be called, but they are at the top of this class. After those names come off the board the draft could be full of surprises and potential trades.

Be interesting to see just who Sweeney top 5 is?

A lot of chatter around guys like McQueen and Martin entering that conversation and it’s interesting as he says top 5 and not 6.

I’m hoping he keeps it, unless he can come away with a young player like Peterka, but it’s not every year the Bruins pick this high, so why not keep it and find a way to land Peterka or a player like him as well.

Not a Martone fan?
I’m looking for a centre in the top 10. I like Eklund a lot though. And Aitcheson is an animal. I love players like Martin and Aitcheson.

Aitcheson crushes ppl then beats up anyone that challenges him after. He also has offensive instinct and a cannon of a one timer. One timers are hard to save even for nhl goalies.

Nope. He just sounds like the second coming of Zach Hamill.
That’s your comparison? Obrien is 6’2 and makes no look passes behind the back and between his legs right onto his teams stick. He also finds the smallest seems to make cross ice passes. I think Obrien potentially could become an elite playmaker. Granted I never saw any hamil highlights or games.

I don’t really care all that much about bottom 6 or defense 4-6 in the big picture - they are all easily filled by holdovers, rookies, cheap FA, or trades

2011 example

Bottom 6
Kelly, Peverly, Ryder, Campbell, Paille, Thornton
McQuaid, Kaberle, Ference

Basically a trip to At Home or Home Goods

Necas is legit high end talent~ add to the first line and Zacha I’m 5/6 in and haven’t got to FA etc

McAvoy & Lindholm are up there with any duo

I’m not buying the media brain washing team going to suck

I’ll bet anyone here $100 they get atleast 90 points

We all got Venmo

If any regulars are so sure they are going to suck send me a PM I can use a little extra cash

I would rather draft and sign Necas next summer because I want both lol

Plus I’m going to their Draft party and I want surprise
@DKH..when is the Draft party?

I have JJ Peterka in the HFL SIM (we have an opening I believe if any one is interested in this stuff)

I would not trade for Peterka for the second pick - I already can see what he is

Buffalo GM doesn’t need picks because he’s fired if not making playoffs - he needs vet players who can lead and win

Aren't you afraid that he might be a power play merchant? He's also quite skinny (i.e. won't be in the NHL anytime soon), and I've read reports that he needs to improve his skating. Let the Utah or Philadelphia take a chance on him.

ah the old never seen him play but he`s a bust opinion, sorry friend, have to advise against that approach but that`s just me, done that myself, didn`t end well
I didn't call him a bust, I just said that I'm getting really bad Zach Hamill vibes from him (blame it on my 2007 draft PTSD).

Jake's much better looking that Zach, I'll give him that. He could become the Bruins' new Seguin in the teen idol fan club department.

This whole thing about Sweeney trading into the top 5, else dealing the pick, makes no sense. Must be smoke.

There is simply no way to know if the guy you like at #5 is going to be there at #7. So obviously you wait till you're on the clock at 7 before doing anything.

If Martone falls to 7 (as he very well might), lol don't tell me you don't snap pick him

O'Brien falls to #12 on that Sportsnet list, and he even falls out of Craig Button's top 10 (#11).
