NHL 2025 DRAFT - Bruins pick 7th III

Letourneau left a lot to be desired this year, it seems. Hopefully he can break out. 0 goals in 36 games at BC.
Sweeney dug deep finding Letourneau. He wasn't playing Major A in the OHL. He could have done better. Steers away from a lot of CHL players. Instead he took a dark horse hoping for a miracle.

I’m getting nervous they might move that pick for a more established player. That presser yesterday might have just been Sweeney keeping his options open but it smelled like they’ve had talks.

Sweeney has been overall good IMO on trades but this franchise is desperate for young talent up front. And if they think they can contend quickly and move a high pick in that effort I think they are high as a kite.
I doubt anyone trades for that pick until the draft itself. Teams are going to want to see their guy is there before dealing for the pick.

Did you already know that Desnoyers challenged Hughes to trade up for him? And not surprising why, it's been since Lafrenière that Quebec produced a prospect this touted.

So yes, I think it's possible for the Habs to swing for the fences on him. There's been stuff like 1, 1, 2, 2, floated to land him. Which I wouldn't accept in Sweeney's shoes. So if they want him, it's more.
I really do not care if Desnoyers proposed being traded to Montreal or not . Kent Hughes is only making a trade if he feels it benefits the habs

I hope he doesn’t trade the 7th for someone a year away from free agency. Make the pick. Spend wisely in UFA market/ or via trade. Save some coin for next summer.

UFA:

McDavid
Panarin
Eichel
Makar
Kaprizov
Laine
Connor
Tuch

RFA:

Bedard
Necas
Zegras
Robertson
Cooley
Nemec
Carlsson
Harley
Fantilli
Etc etc etc…

He didn't dig that deep. Letourneau was ranked by most to go late in the first round.

Hell of a shot there. Curious - how many games did you watch Letourneau play this year?
Three games live this past season. Merrimack Providence Northeastern. Smooth skater, but never stood out. He’s 6’7” so he’s noticeable in that way. If he were 6’0” I wouldn’t have known he was playing. He looked overwhelmed. Hoping he could put it behind him and take a leap.

How many of those players will actually get to free agency?

I'm thinking, very few.

Of those 8 UFAs you list I bet 1 actually goes to free agency. Regarding the RFAs, how often are offer sheets used?
