NHL 2025 DRAFT - Bruins pick 7th III

See this is why I ask.

I don’t know the quality difference between the Big-10 and Hockey East. I would have thought they would have been ranked similarly high among their NCAA counterparts.

How would you rank the Conferences?
It's not a very big difference in quality imo. Leonard and Perreault both put up 60pts as 18 year old freshmen at BC compared to Hagens 37 but that 23/24 team was extremely stacked offensively and a lot guys numbers dropped this year. Numbers certainly don't tell the whole story and a ppg is pretty good so I do think Hagens is a good bet to be at least a 2nd line C maybe 1st line.

He also slapped Chris Rock the prior year and that didn’t go over too well..
That disgusted me so much, I still can't watch a Will Smith movie. I wanted to see that one about the Williams twins too.

OT: How can you name your kid Will Smith, knowing one of the most famous actors in the world is named Will Smith?

I read yesterday that Chicago is thinking about either Frondell or Desnoyers in the 3rd OA slot. I guess they want a 2nd-line center behind Bedard.
Center Frank Nazar just put up 12 points in 10 games at the World Championships against NHL players. With all the complaining this year about how Bedard has nobody to play with, I'd be locked on Porter Martone if I were them.

A playmaking power winger with a goal scoring speedy center. That's a match made in heaven.

Aren’t there about 12 kids in his family? I mean how many names are there to pick from that go with Smith

Same

O’Brien younger draft eligible age, size, right shot, style, and personality/maturity if he went out eat with Bill Armstrong ((Utah) and Flyers group that I’m assuming has Tocchet & Briere he’s unlikely to get to 7

so I believe Frondell or Desnoyers is at 7

Will they take that player there

The drama is not good for the godfather

Athletic profile on Brady Martin

I’m starting to think Brady Martin is really an alien ~ Brady Martian the grandson of Mork from Ork.

He looks like Mork even….this report can’t be about a human

Profile
Martin is a well-rounded, fearless, workhorse, pro-style forward whose combination of competitiveness and strength has endeared him to scouts and OHL coaches and players alike. He played huge, all-situations minutes for the Soo this season, often clocking 25-plus minutes as a forward, and then wore a letter for Canada at U18 Worlds and was one of the best players in the tournament. He plays extremely hard, he plays in the guts of the ice, his effort level and physicality get the highest grades in the draft and he stays involved in all three zones, constantly seeming to make things happen and have an impact on shifts and games. He’s strong on his feet and finishing checks, delivering some of the hardest hits I saw all year and doing it seemingly every game without being a dirty player. He’s got good hands and reflexes on tips and redirects around the net. He’s got some raw power and should continue to get even stronger. He’s got a B and C game that allows him to consistently impact games in a variety of desirable ways. While I wouldn’t call his skill or skating extremely dynamic, he’s very talented, regularly attacking at and challenging defenders with his hands and middle-lane drive and beating goalies with his quick release (he’s got an NHL shot already). So he’s not just a worker type with secondary skill; there’s some play-driving and individual playmaking to his game as well. He’s going to have a long career as a productive up-and-down-the-lineup center in the NHL and should be an excellent and unique middle-six C at minimum. There’s some untapped potential yet with him and his development curve as well. He’s very early in it, and while he’s a quick skater and a very powerful player, both of those things still have another level. I don’t think there’s a more competitive, honest, stick-to-it, high motor player in the class. His stock is at an all-time high right now, too. I thought about ranking him higher here.

I think that's the biggest knock on him. He hasn't been as successful as Celebrini at BU or Smith at BC. With that said, he was a PPG player as a freshman and has talent.

Someone who I recommend everyone watch if they have time are Simon St-Laurent's scouting reports on this year's draft. I don't agree with everything he says, but his analysis on players' strengths, weaknesses, and footage to support his claims in my opinion do a lot better to give fans a better understanding on each potential draft pick instead of the usual 5 minute highlight reels.

Here's what he says about Hagens:

Thanks for recommending. His Frondell video is interesting - doesn’t think he’ll play center in the NHL due to shortcomings in transition play and passing.

OK. I’ll bear down and get serious.

Draft is tonight. Who will Bruins end up picking? One word answers only.

Frondell (that is a wild ass guess)

Interested what some of you pick if you had to bet $100K right this moment.

I’m going Frondell 51% but the Alien (Brady Martin) 49%

That close

He sounds perfect but of course he isn't, he's got to have some weaknesses somewhere.
