NHL 2025 DRAFT - Bruins pick 7th II

I don’t think it’s hard to answer. The hardest thing to acquire is elite offensive talent. It’s not a surprise so many here are drooling over Martin (or Aitcheson) but this team is bereft of top tier offensive talent. Drafting for grit in the top 10 would be so silly.
Which players do you consider to be potential elite talents ?

Hagens. Frondell. O’Brien. (Obviously Misa and Schaefer). Desnoyers fantastic and would have no issue there but not as high an offensive ceiling.

EDIT: and McQueen of course. Obvious questions but his offensive ceiling may be higher than anyone but Hagens.

Eklund and Martone but I really would have to think hard before taking a wing and I think at worst, O’Brien will be there.

I'm going to clarify what I mean by best available player.

If a player is consistently rated in the teens- like Martin is- that is not the best available player. That's just your opinion as an organization. And if your organization's opinions have consistently sucked, you should have a little bit of humility and acknowledge that. Know what you are good at and know what your weaknesses are. And the Boston Bruins as an organization have a HUGE weakness at drafting. It's demonstrable and seen over the course of many years. It's not even a point of discussion. They don't want to hear about 2015, but that's just the most obvious example. What about the years after that, where they didn't even draft at all? They don't value or focus on drafting and development as an organization in the way that they should, and that is why we don't have a hockey team right now. Zoom out and take the big picture view, look at what the organization has done over the last decade+, and figure it out.

So, this is why I would rank the following:
McQueen > O'Brien > Ecklund > Frondell > Martin (this guy should be drafted in the teens?

I have checked out Martin's skating, and it is not that good. Frondell's isn't either. He does play a more physical game (like a Bennett), and we know that is valued by Boston management, but that's not what we need. We don't need 4th line physical guy. We need skill and speed in addition to physicality.

There is so much wrong in this post it’s frightening.

Personally, I think Schaefer and Misa are the elite talents.

After that, I think you're looking at top6 talents of different types and skill sets with different strengths and weaknesses. There are reasons to get excited about any number of them.
I think the best player in the draft will be found in the 2nd round example Bergeron knies krejci. That's how winning is done.

Hagens gonna slide to Boston. ;)

agreed. The way the NHL works you know they love Martin, Aitcheson and Mrtka. All dream players in theory
Haha funny I have all 3 in top 12

I’m still at any of consensus six get to 7 you take them

Then I go Eklund or O’Brien at 8

I do want Martin ~ but at 16 I wanted my parents to buy me a red Firebird with an 8 track player

My father said screw that shit and I got a 1973 AMC Javelin because it was safer and had a bigger engine plus he knew I’d probably think they got me something you throw in the Olympics

I didn’t get Brady Martin but I got Anton Frondell

I mean, that would be shocking. No two ways about it haha.

If Martin goes at 4, one of the consensus guys will be there at 7. Idk I really feel like Frondell or Martone will be on the board when the Bruins pick.

I wouldn’t mind brady Martin. I certainly would be surprised to see him go 4th overall, but that’s good news for the bruins because that means someone else will be falling

I wanted a GTO. I got a 10-year old MGA. It was a great car. Just before I bought it, I looked at a 1950 Porsche; it was so awesome, and then the idiot told me that he had installed a Covair drive train. LOL. I declined.

Mick Jagger said you don't always get you want, but sometimes you get what you need. I call our house, the Mick Jagger house, because it wasn't the one I initially wanted, but I recognized shortly thereafter that it was the house I really needed.

I will literally build an altar of their ugly Mammoth and offer sacrifices to it if it gets them to take Martin at #4

Who has the highest offensive skills/IQ and will create the most scoring chances? That’s my pick at 7.

I like what I read about many of the possible targets. Looking like they will add a great and cheap ELC prospect next to Pasta-McAvoy-Swayman real soon.

Enjoy Bruins fans!

2004 was a terrible draft, but I think I’d slot Ovechkin and Malkin over Krejci, but maybe it’s just me.
Also seems a bit early to say Knies is the best player from 2021 draft when the first round has Power, McTavish, Hughes, Johnson, Edvinsson, Eklund, Guenther and especially Wyatt Johnston all doing very well.
